Program announcements for Naval Academy Summer Seminar for rising seniors and the Science. Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics program for grades 8 through 11 should hit the www.usna.edu/Admissions site this weekend. If you are interested, get your applications started early. These are excellent opportunities to see some of the inner workings of USNA. It is tough to get selected so don't get blindsided. BTW selection to NASS does not ensure an offer of appointment, nor does non-selection predict that you won't get an offer - HONEST! Actually about 40% of the new plebes will not have attended NASS.

Give it your best shot, and good luck!

Haha yeah I'll be doing the same. In terms of preparation should I have anything else other than my SAT scores, my high school GPA, and a resume (the same one I used for AFA)? Should my GPA be weighted or unweighted?

Can't wait! I'll be applying for STEM about half way through February so I have a chance to get started with new classes and add them to the application. Hope everyone gets into whichever one they are going for!:thumb:

I think I previously asked this but can't find the thread. On the application for stem will they ask for letters of recommendation or should you send them? and if I haven't had a chance to take the psat's will that effect me if my gpa and class standing are top 10% ? thanks

Just applied for NASS. I applied the very second it opened...wow I have no life, oh well. I applied on my iPod touch two...now my thumbs hurt. :(

Nope, doesn't appear to be open yet (STEM) for registration - says early February so maybe they're letting the first wave of NASS applications in first so they aren't overwhelmed!

Keep checking for the STEM announcement. If past experience is any indication, NASS is probably overwhelming at this time. Also, don't forget to check www.navysports.com for sports camps; they also are excellent opportunities to visit USNA and get to meet some coaches.

I've been to 2 lacrosse ones, and they are very demanding. Mental and physical. I think its a great way to get to hang around the Academy and get to "experience" the physical aspect. Even though you can only go to King Hall, Bancroft, and the fields, its amazing. Definitely check them out!
