Hi! This is my first post, though I've been following the threads since September, and I've got to say, these forums have been incredibly helpful. The advice here helped me a lot, as my family and my community, though supportive of my decision to apply to a service academy, are just not very knowledgeable about them. There are answers here to questions I never even knew I had.

That being said, I checked my DoDMERB account last night and noticed that my admission status had changed to "Offer Extended", updated 16 Feb 2010. Naturally, I got very excited but thought it would be prudent to call the admissions office to verify this. When I called, the receptionist who looked up my file told me they had no record whatsoever of extending an offer of appointment. I'm now more confused than ever. Does anyone have any idea what this means?

I bet Admissions was confused. Call again and ask for your regional director.

This post now has me worried! I had the same thing appear on my DoDMERB page and I haven't called Admissions to check and make sure it's true. I'll make sure to do that tomorrow. I haven't called them before, but you say I should ask for my regional director?

To CiaoRoma518 and Emistar910: First off, congratulations. Second, the same thing happened to me and I called my regional director and he said that I was offered an appointment but that I wasn't suppose to find out via DoDMERB but rather through my nominating source. So relax but give your regional director a call tomorrow.

Anyone can help you, but you want to get beyond the receptionist. Asking for the regional director is a good way to begin.

I've been trying to get a hold of my regional director for a couple of days now, but we keep missing each other due to the time difference. Emistar910, have you had any luck into getting into contact with admissions?

Yes, I managed to get in touch with my regional director on Friday. He said he wasn't officially allowed to tell me the status of my application, but he hinted it was good news!
