Hi. I'm new to this forum and have applied to the CGA and I'm anxiously awaiting an update on my web site because it still shows that they have not received my final application paperwork. I have a delivery confirmation receipt from the post office that shows that my application was delivered on February 1, but my web page still shows the items I mailed in bold or not received. I was reading some of the other posts and it looks like they are still processing all the mail. I hope so because I really hope I get an appointment to the CGA. That's been a dream of mine since I completed the AIM program last summer. Does anyone know if I should be concerned, or if they are still processing the applications. I sent an e-mail to the CGA and they said they would look into it, but I'm just anxious because it's been about 3 weeks since they should have received the forms.

I got my DoDMERB paperwork last summer that said I'm completely medically qualified, so I don't have to worry about that. However, I had asked about an interview several times and I know the CGA was trying to schedule something, but they recently told me they are not doing any more interviews because time has run out, but not to worry because they are not required and it shoudn't hurt my chances. I do well at interviews, so I hope that this is true and it doesn't hurt my chances.

I just wanted to introduce myself. I have also applied for ROTC scholarships and have been accepted at Texas A&M and will join the Corps of Cadets if I don't get accepted into the CGA, but I really hope it does work out. I would love to be accepted to the CGA.

Hi! Welcome to SAF! I was accepted as part of the class of 2013 but was medically deferred at the end of swab summer summer. I'm in the process of getting a medical waiver so I hope to join you in 2014. Don't worry about the forms being "grayed out" on cga.edu...it takes a couple of weeks for everyone's to be updated. Chances are they did receive your application but have just not gotten to it because of all the mail they still have to sift through. Best of luck and if you have any questions about swab summer, don't hestitate to ask!

I had my application packet delivered on the 1st of February as well and it just showed up yesterday. So it shouldn't be too long now before your status updates.

Thanks for the responses. Hopefully my application will show as received by the CGA very soon. Did others have interviews or know if your chances of being accepted by the CGA are hurt by not having an interview?

Also, I did my PFE while I was at the Academy for the AIM program last summer and I passed, but didn't do great on it. Does anyone know if it's just a pass/fail test, or if they go by your score on the test? I didn't redo it, do I hope it's just pass/fail.

Thanks for all the help and maybe I'll see some of you this summer!

Ask your admissions officer if they have it. My son's web page never showed that his paperwork arrived. He even got accepted during EA and it still did not change.

Good luck and welcome to the board. There is a wealth of great information here.

Interviews are recommended, but not required. An interview can help you, but not having one will not hurt you.

There is not a prescribed minimum performance for each individual event on the PFE, only total scores are assessed.

Any score less than 165 is graded as F.

The average score for incoming 2013 was 205 for men and 201 for women.

jww,

Welcome--It took about 3 weeks for our stuff to get grayed out, but don't be afraid to call directly to admissions. We did, and they were very helpful about easing our concerns. -officer

jww,

From the cga.edu website: IMPORTANT: The PFE will be administered during the first week of Swab Summer. Cadets who fail to score at least 130 points will be disenrolled. Cadets who fail to score 165 points at the end of Swab Summer will be placed on Fitness Probation and receive remedial physical training. Cadets who fail to score 165 points by the end of their first semeseter will normally be disenrolled.

If you passed the PFE during AIM, you will be OK for admission.

Just heard back that my son's application is now complete (called admissions)despite it not yet being reflected on the website. Not sure when it will go for "Final Review" but should hear something around April. Since he is already Med Qual'd no other hurdles exist , now the wait begins.
