My gym teacher measured the gym wrong when I did my mile.I was supposed to do it outside but it snowed and was to ice so she measured the gym during the school day and said I had to do 20 laps when I really should have only done 14. What should I do about this, should i just let the admissions office know or have her call them? any suggestions?

Just call them up, it can mean pass or fail on your fitness test, I made sure we measured our basketball floor I did not want to cheat myself, I estimated 50 ft from the sideline to halfline but it was actually 40ft! It will work out if with your admissions officer, maybe retake your exam if it's not too late.

19.01 I know this isn't a great time for a mile and a half but I could have been worse. I am not the best of runners.:frown:

Practice running the mile and request to retake it. Cite the mistake. Have you been running since then?

Yes I have, can I still request to retake it even though the deadline for the applications has pasted?

I had a similar problem, first off you need to be under 8 mins on your mile time. Call or email admissions and get a retest. I failed my first mile and them improved the next time by almost a min. You need to pass the retest though, because USMA can disqualify you for a failed cfa test

You run a mile, not a mile and half. Regardless 19 minutes is a fail. People are worried about 8 minutes miles and you are averaging a 12 minute mile.

I would retake the entire test.

You do need to get your mile time down to 8 minutes... but also realize that running around a gym x amount of times adds time to your mile because you are turning soooo many times. Call admissions and explain your problem and they may let you retake it. Try to run outside on a track if you can .

I also find that running outside helps with breathing easier.

How do I know who to call, do I call the admissions office (number on the site) or do i call the regional comander?

I would call your regional admissions person first. You can find the link to a map and list of numbers at the bottom of your candidate portal. Call ASAP!!

I honestly have no idea. But if you cite the mistake in the time, they may be inclined to hear you out.
