USNA does not usually inform candidates if they are fully qualified. CFA and DoDMERB Q or waiver are obvious. Scholastic-academic is generally everything else evaluated. Unless you have an LOA, it’s prudent to not assume you are fully qualified.
The USNA website recommends candidates go after every nomination for which they are eligible, which, at a minimum, is usually 2 Senators, 1 Representative and VP, plus any service-connected or ROTC noms. This gives the SA maximum flexibility as to where to eventually charge an appointment, which the appointee may never know, even if they have a principal nom.
Don’t overthink this. Trust Admissions to do its job of figuring out who they want to offer an appointment to. Focus on what you can control, continue to tend alternate plans, enjoy the here and now with family and friends.
