possible new prescription ( topical cream)

Some of us on here are MDs but not connected to Dodmerb. Accutane is not automatically disqualifying. My DS took a 4 month course of Accutane with success and no side effects. This was of course after other therapies had failed. He documented this diagnosis and outcome on the Dodmerb forms...

    Chance of getting into USCGA?

Questions like this are a complete waste of time to ask and to answer. The answer:No. One. Knows. It would be as worthwhile to ask why an applicant with >700 on all three sections of the SAT (twice), two varsity letters cross country, ten years of USTA/competitive tennis, boys state with...

Class of 2020 USNA Appointment Thread

You are probably correct about the numbers in general but I have to question why you seem so intent about making sure that everyone who is still waiting to hear anything at all knows with near complete certainty that all hope is just about lost. I'm sure you don't intend it this way but it...

    When could I find out?

Well I am very happy to be hopefully wrong on this and we are still on the roller coaster for sure!

    When could I find out?

My take on the appointments thread is that it's about up to 80, so if that typically represents 10% then about 800 or so appointments have gone out already. It is my understanding that the NAPS appointments haven't gone out yet and that seems to make up a relatively large portion of the...

    Is my condition waiverable?

None of us can answer that question for you unfortunately. The effect of the NF1 gene mutation is so variable from one individual to the next that I'm sure the decision for a waiver would greatly depend on your individual case. Some individuals lead completely normal lives. You may be one of...

    How Important is Basketball Throw?

These are exactly in line with my DS's stats and he is still waiting too. I'm sure there are many more just like them both.

    2020 Appointments

Real mail notifications is only available in parts of VA and is being tested in NYC. Package tracking is different and available everywhere. Just an FYI...

What if doc doesn't complete initial exam paperwork?

Well if it's just a urine and hearing test then there is no excuse for not providing this information in a timely fashion. Is there a family physician or pediatrician who might intervene and call the offending MD directly? This might provide quicker results. Short of that, the next time you...

What if doc doesn't complete initial exam paperwork?

Is it possible that the doctor didn't do the tests and left the information off because He or she doesn't actually have it? I would call every day, multiple times a day until I got an answer or the information was provided. Two weeks is really not a reasonable delay, IMHO.

    2020 Appointments

It seems to me that the key words in that email is " complete the remaining requirements satisfactorily, " not the word guaranteed. Only the USNA determines what satisfactorily means for each candidate.

    Questions

Not sure if the OP is still reading...I hope that you did not miss any deadlines for MOC interviews, not knowing what state you are residing in. I am no expert on the nomination process by any means, and perhaps there are other nomination sources for which you could be eligible if you did miss...

Reporting an injury after DoDMERB Exam

A shoulder dislocation can't happen without injury to ligaments, the degree to which can vary. Shoulder ligament tears cannot be repaired with exercises alone.

Reporting an injury after DoDMERB Exam

I have lurked on this forum for a long time as a parent of a 2020 hopeful however after reading this thread I was compelled to respond to the OP' s original question and to many of the comments that followed. As a parent, I find many of the comments in this thread to be unnecessarily harsh and...
