    bb in hand

I can answer the colorblind question. As long as he can differentiate between red and green he'll be fine. I'm colorblind as well, I can't pass the colored dots test but I can pass the red/green flag test.

    Changing Plane Ticket for LDAC

Last year your parents/guardians came and got you after graduation or you left for the airport. If your flight left after midnight of graduation day, you have to stay in the holdover barracks at LDAC. We had a cadet who's flight left at 12:01 and they made him stay, while a cadet who's flight...

    Contacts in ROTC?

Just don't use them as an excuse for poor performance (like I can't see very well right now because my contacts are dirty, things like that). It's no joke when they tell you to take contacts out before the gas chamber. Guess some people have to experience it to believe it.

    Contacts in ROTC?

While you're on campus, I doubt anyone will care/ask. During FTX just don't have a detriment from them. As mentioned above, they're not allowed during LDAC, they'll consistently remind you not to wear them. One guy thought he could get away with it and his contacts were fused to his eyeballs...

    Reintroduction

Hello all, I was a member here way long ago when I was a high school student. I just stumbled back here now. I am a Engineer Second Lieutenant with an Army Reserve Unit (chose RFD) and a civilian construction engineer. I did four years of ROTC at a state university so I can answer pretty...

    Cadet lodging for CTLT

Did see if this was answered above, but at Ft. Bliss, cadets stay at the Ft. Bliss Inn. Last year, it was two cadets per room. The sponsor LT's usually picked the cadets up and drove them around. The hotel is within walking distance to a DFAC and a mall; just make sure the cadet gets a meal...

    Ranger Challenge

I'm on my school's Ranger team. We work out five days a week at 0600 and have Ranger labs Friday afternoons. We also do a fall and spring FTX in addition to the battalion ones, and have tons more field training then normal cadets. It all depends on the cadre member advising the the team and...

    ROTC PT?

I know to contract you've got to pass the APFT with either 50 or 60 points in each event (depends on your Bn). That's two minutes of push ups, followed by two minutes of sit-ups, then a two mile run.

ROTC Ranger Challenge -a few Q's

I'm in our battalion's Ranger Challenge team (Charlie Company). Yes, we conduct our PT separate, we do PT every weekday morning at 0600 instead of just Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and we have Tuesday and Friday training labs, in marksmanship, grenade assault, one-rope bridge. We do a lot of...

    9/11/09 Eight Years After

Sept. 11 is what inspired me to join the Army, I was in fifth grade at the time. So I swore in yesterday at our college's football game at half time. It was a great experience!

    USMA vs ROTC

If you want to experience ROTC you can call up a unit at a college in your area and ask if you can shadow a cadet for a day/night once school resumes in the fall if it isn't too late for you. That's a great way to find out how you like ROTC and get a feel for the schedule.

    Concorde Help

Yesterday I received yet another bill from the hospital I did my medical remedial at. A month ago I received the first bill and called Concorde. They told me to fax it over and I did. I guess they never paid it because I have sixty days to pay this bill or else I get turned over to a...

OM Gosh.. My school staff is SO DUMB!

It would be pretty awesome and it definitely would clear up all the questions people have if someone came and presented me with the scholarship at our senior awards ceremony. I don't know if anyone else has the AROTC scholarship from our school though, since my graduating class is about 900...
