I received a call during my Calculus class this morning.
And it was my OSO congratulating me on being awarded the scholarship!
My academic credentials and PFT are NOT even considered competitive, but I proved myself to them that I truly want to pursue this commission in the USMC and will go...
Congratulations to you and your daughter!
If I may ask, when did your daughter receive the call and what state do y'all live in?
Just keeping an idea of the trends and patterns on this thread!
I just checked my NROTC MO status. It changed from the usual "....at the Marine Corps district for board selection..." to this entire page of my application information. It primarily stated that "...no decision has been made."
1) Has anybody else's status changed?
2) TO SCHOLARSHIP...
I've accepted long ago that I won't. My GPA (3.3) and PT score (110) is what killed me in any chance but even if that brings me down to 1% chance of getting it, it's better than 0% in not applying :thumb:
But I have back up plans in place!
I know right? And I met with him too, downtown. He must cover this part of Texas hehe. Other applicants in other states have recieved the call so hopefully Texas is next.
The calls are rolling in from New York all the way to California. Let's hope for more today and congrats to everyone who has received it so far.
Wow! I literally burst in excitement for your DS and family. Congratulations! That is truly wonderful and I'm sure he's going to excel in NROTC. Again, congratulations!
Good luck with that, Flyer. Something will turn out well for you as well as the rest of us.
Dooddie, I haven't heard a word either. This thread is what's keeping me sane. But here's to hurrying up and waiting :thumb:
