    NROTC Scholarship Question

From what I hear, they do not communicate. Update everything you feel should be updated. By the way, I'm heading down to ERAU today with a Marine option scholarship, maybe I'll see ya there next year.

    Marine Option interviews?

I wouldn't classify all marine options as that boring. The two officers conducting my interview lasted at least an hour each. We ended up talking about my intentions and what I knew about the Corps, and also what I could expect in the future. The Seargent Major ended up coming in and chatting...

Meeting with recruiter for NROTC scholarship?

Hmmm. The Marine recruiter helping me out said he got "some" credit for helping me out, whatever that may mean. Either way I made it worth his while by trying to help him find some people who were thinking about enlisting. We ended up being decent friends!

Meeting with recruiter for NROTC scholarship?

I ended up wearing my JROTC uniform. There is a HUGE discussion on whether that is advisable or not. At least for Marine option, they take a picture of you for the front of your package. So just imagine the first thing the board sees. That's how you want to present yourself. Again this may...

Meeting with recruiter for NROTC scholarship?

Yup perfectly normal! Statement of understanding if I remember correctly just means that what you put down on forms is correct to the best of your knowledge. It's been a while. And yes when I went for my appointment I did all of the signing of forms, interviews, and PFT all the same day. (I...

    ROTC Rules

Yep. There are uniform requirements, and shaving requirements while you are wearing the said uniforms. You are an image of the military and you have to present yourself in a good way. Non scholarship definitely gets uniforms, maybe after an initial screening at some schools; but definitely you...

When do you have to have your application in to be considered for the 1st board?

Definitely get it in before October comes and you should be good for the early board. But definitely ASAP is better because of what the above just said!

    Waiver Denied For Peanuts

If this is so, contact DodMERB and someone to do the oral challenge immediately! As I'm sure you know, this stuff can take forever.

    Just sent in NROTC App

Probably the best post I've read in a while. Oorah. That is outstanding advice.

    Nrotc (marine option)

YES! That will be good I wish I had done that.

    Nrotc (marine option)

Good start, but again the PFT is 3 miles. A way I prepared is to not worry about distance. Try to run for thirty minutes straight instead. As the days goes on you'll notice a much greater improvement. You'll find yourself running 4+ miles eventually with ease.

    Nrotc (marine option)

Best advice I can give ya: (Got Marine Option scholarship this year.) - Improve the SAT scores (as you said, good to go) - Stick with the Sea Cadets; great program, try to get leadership billets if possible. - RUN LIKE IT'S YOUR JOB! The PFT for the Marines is a huge part I have been told...

Villanova / Fordham SUNY Maritime NROTC Units

I know both are great units. Villanova is one of the largest units I hear, and my friend goes to SUNY and says he loves the unit. There's no bad decision at least :)

    Outstanding. May I use that?

    preliminary Application!

Haha you've gotta relax friend! Weve got plenty of time. I sent my prelim app today as well. Not sure whether or not I'd want to transfer from ROTC to usna but well see when the time comes. I don't think it should take much more than a month though. I remember having my recs in by June last year.
