Forgot to add - DS accepted both NROTC and AROTC scholarships to the same school until he decided which was the best fit for him. He did not decide until mid-July last summer.

Friend's DD is in NROTC (she's Nurse Option) and they were just recently told that the Nurse Options are guaranteed active duty after graduation, but the rest are no longer guaranteed active. Maybe someone else has heard this as well and will jump in here...

Congratulations carroll32! My guess is that each school is different regarding their paying room and board, just as some schools pick it up while others don't. Would be best to contact the school directly and ask them rather than speculate...

I have no idea about this year, even how many they are going to have. But last year they held 2 boards, the first being in October and the 2nd was in late February or early March, I believe. Hard to keep them straight between NROTC and AROTC. My memory is not what it used to be!

I just replied to your post in the other thread. Same status as everyone last year and it will not change until after you have been awarded a scholarship.

Last year everyone's status said exactly what yours is saying until they were actually awarded a scholarship and then it FINALLY changed. Since you're already DoD MERB qualified for SAs, you are one step ahead of the game for ROTC.

If you are referring to NROTC-Marine Option, you are incorrect, at least based on last year's applicants. DS was interviewed and had to take the physical fitness test at the same time as the interviews were held. Photos were also taken. Physical Fitness is VERY IMPORTANT. As far as we know...

Does anyone know where I can find a current list of languages eligible for CLIP-B? I have been able to find lists for AY 2009-2010 but haven't been able to find any more current than that. Maybe Marist or Clarkson can help? Thanks...:smile:
