Thanks NavyHoops! I don't expect we will visit a bunch on Sundays, but there are limited options during Yard Liberty, especially as the weather gets colder, so this is good to know. Thanks again!
During Yard Liberty on Sundays, are plebes allowed to eat in at DryDock with guests present or do they have to get their food as take out and eat it elsewhere?
We got a similar letter from our DS late last week. While the losses are disappointing and unfortunate, the Class of 2020 is being forged and their spirit remains unbroken.
True words. It is hard on the parents and it doesn't get easier the second time around. That said, our oldest graduated USCGA in 2014 and graduation day is just an incredible feeling for both the parents and the graduates. Thank goodness the phone call last Sunday was good!
Same thing pretty much. Got a letter dated 3 July. Generally very positive. DS said they had plenty to eat which is critical to 18 - 22 years olds under stress. Looking forward to the phone call tomorrow for sure!

jebdad is spot on. DS had a 30 ACT composite with a 34 in math and 32 in English and a superb all around application. He received appointments to USNA, USMA, USAFA with an LOA to USMMA...but was waitlisted at USCGA. Every year is different, but I would not feel secure with a 28 ACT unless you...
I don't see this as a big deal. As someone stated, the Class of '16 is about to be "shotgunned". Teams constantly change and evolve in the military regardless of branch. I wouldn't worry about this.
