    Color Blindness

I had an applicant that was not accepted at USCGA because of red/green color problems but was admitted to the Air Force Academy. Generally speaking, the sea services are stricter on color vision than the Army or Air Force.

My daughter, who graduated USCGA class of 2013, recently spoke to a student who was in a similar situation: multiple service academy offers. The applicant was very focused on comparing the schools however, my daughter urged her to consider what she will be doing after graduation. "You will be...

Grand Haven. Mich Coast Guard Fest

They estimate 350,000 people attend the 10-day festival. I've been there several years for the entire festival and its so big I doubt you could see everything. We focused on the parade, the Coast Guard Silent Drill Team, and the ship tours during the day, and the concerts and fireworks at night.

How is CGA harder to get into than the other SA's?

One issue that might make USCGA, USNA and USMMA a little harder than USMA and USAFA is the color vision requirement. I had an applicant who failed the USCGA color vision test but received an appointment to USAFA. Check me if I'm wrong Luigi, but last time I looked (couple years now) I...
