Nothing in DS' inbox here, either.

    Listing Parents on NROTC Application

DS' father and I were never married. Bio father is listed on his birth certificate, but we haven't seen/spoken to him in 5+ years. I don't have a good address or phone number or email for him, and I'm not sure what he's doing. He has no custody of DS (and never has), but technically hasn't...

Who else is still waiting to hear about NASS?

DS figured he might be waiting for a bit because we live in a pretty populated area (and state), so the whole geographic representation thing comes into play. But, he also feels that the longer we wait, the greater chance someone equally qualified or better would have applied...just a lot of...

Who else is still waiting to hear about NASS?

If they're considering newly-received SAT scores, we can begin making alternate plans now. DS took the SAT in January and did poorly in Math. He won't retake until May 2. He would've been better if they only considered the PSAT scores he submitted on the application, he did awesome then.

Who else is still waiting to hear about NASS?

DS submitted his application on February 7, and we're still waiting to hear. He indicated he would available either Session I or III (Session II is his finals week), but has a Nuclear Engineering program he'd like to attend the same dates as Session III if he doesn't get into NASS. At this...

    NROTC vs. NUPOC

DS was hoping to be a naval aviator, but it seems his vision is going to preclude him from flying for the military. His next choice is to be a Nuke Officer. His first choice of schools is USNA, but realistically that's probably a 50/50 chance at best for him (given the competitors for...

    Summer Seminar

Thanks! We're from a pretty populated section of California, so we might be waiting until the end.

    Summer Seminar

DS applied February 7th and we haven't heard anything. He wasn't selected for USAFA SS, so hopefully he gets better results here. Is there specific data on the application that would trigger the acceptance email? I hate to be negative, but if they've reviewed applications from the first week of...

Only 2 more days until Summer Seminar Invites come out!

DS was not selected. Such a disappointment. But congrats to those who got in :)

No email here yet, either... We also haven't heard about NASS. And DS' been rated Competitive for his application, but we didn't get an email on that, although it sounds like others did...I'm starting to feel like we're a black hole!

Still waiting here, too... Am I reading others' responses correctly, that NASS has started sending out acceptance notifications?

    Sinus Surgery?

DS will be competing for an appointment to enter a SA in 2016, but I want to start working on this now if it's going to be a problem... DS had a series of sinus and ear infections when he was young (<10 years old). Finally determined the issue was with his maxillary crest - it was "bent" to...

    Hi All!

My DS has been eyeing USNA or USAFA for several years, and now that he's a rising junior the time for him to dig in and work towards an appointment is getting close! A little about him: GPA is 4.11, with one AP and two Honors classes scheduled this year. He is in the top 6% of his class...
