I was unable to find this answered elsewhere but I apologize if it is.... The NROTC site says applicants are "asked" to apply to five schools (one being in-state). Question: is this a hard number? can someone apply to say 3 (one of which is in-state) and not do the other two? let's assume...

Thanks to all for your input. To clarify a couple of points, he does have a plan C already which is to go to a Univ without a ROTC scholarship -- and as mentioned, he could join ROTC as a non-scholarship. He is not worried about injury -- just his dad is. :redface: He wants to play...

I'm looking for someone to validate or invalidate DS's thinking on a Plan B. Assuming he get's his appointment to USNA and that's clearly his first choice (which he will accept), does it make sense to go through the process to apply for NROTC too? The fear/risk is that he'd sustain some injury...

Got the OK today on both the drug allergy (no issue) and the separated shoulder (no issue). DoDMERB asked for a paper form to be filled out describing what, if any, lingering issues there are. Actually this info was previously supplied on the original medial form. oh well. that's the...

Update:we have found out that the drug allergy is not an issue, as hoped for. However, a separated shoulder injury 3 years ago from football is now the item DODMERB is seeking more info on. We'll keep our fingers crossed.

My son has an alergy to Amoxicillin. Anyone know if that will be an issue for DODMERB? there are so many other anti-biotics around now that it's never been an issue through 18 years.
