    USAFA AFSOC Route

He isn't even being that offensive to you. People with names such as pilot2b or 2016USAFA are acknowledging that it is their goal to become a member of the class of 2016 or to become a pilot. Having the goal of becoming a member of the elite non-existent SEAL Team 6 (aka DevGru) before you've...

FYI, and with all due respect, I don't think it's a good idea having your username as DEVGRU, seeing that you are not a member of DEVGRU, nor have you graduated BUD/S or SQT or are a member of the Navy. Even if you were in the Navy, it still wouldn't be a good idea.

    Leaders Encouraging Airmen Development

Absolutely. I'm passing the time by turning my dormitory room on base into a 1950's sports bar. It's coming along quite nicely if I do say so myself.

    Leaders Encouraging Airmen Development

Well, I have yet to receive a rejection letter (and thanks for the previous support everyone). Knowing from ColinBlueMoon that I am supposed to be rejected, I called my counselor and asked when I will be notified (because me not having this rejection letter is seriously putting a hold on current...

    2017 hopefuls

POPPYCOCK! There's a Navy SEAL who did an Ironman with Dave Goggins a few years back. He ran his first marathon at the tender age of 11. Captain Keith Davids.

    Increase in LEAD slots?

With all due respect sir (as I assume you're probably still on Active Duty as an officer), I'm failing to see how we direct entry applicants have anyone to blame but ourselves. Our SATs are not in the 2200+ range.. Honestly, that's the only thing I can think of that is really holding us back...

Thanks for the heads up, it looks like I missed a few pages. Good luck to all preppies!

    Leaders Encouraging Airmen Development

Am I the last LEAD candidate on here who's only option is direct and still hasn't heard anything? I'm almost willing to bet someone $50 here that they're waiting a few more days or weeks to torture me more and then top it off with a rejection letter. My hopes are shot after hearing about...

    Air Force Reserve: Good idea?

Well if you count COLA + BAS + BAH + BASE + SPECIAL DUTY + HAZARD + the benefits of it all being tax free when deployed... Of course, that's still a ways off from $60k+...

    Air Force Reserve: Good idea?

Roger. My post was just based on your previous post about two crews coming from an AD squadron vs one crew from the guard squadron. I'm not entirely familiar with guard, but felt it would be key to bring out any points that others may find interest in when reading these posts-- should...

    Air Force Reserve: Good idea?

So if you want a decreased chance of deploying, you should go Guard?

    Air Force Reserve: Good idea?

^^ I agree with what they all say. None of us enlisted applying had any intentions of trying for the Academy until someone in our chain or FTAC briefing told us about it. If you can afford college, do that instead-- unless your heart is in being an enlisted member.

    Average AFA grad salaries

Roger that. On another note, here is a link for the 2001-2002 USAFA catalog. Is Human Factors Engineering the same as Human Factors under the umbrella of Behavioral Science? I'm not entirely familiar with this area of study, so don't pick on me too hard if this is an obvious comparison...

I believe it's SF, not SP. Security Forces is the term for "Military Police".

Guess I'm out of the race then also, since there are no direct slots for LEAD. I guess I need to start figuring out plan B.
