AFROTC scholarship toward room and board?

YES! The meaning of only paying for tuition is that the scholarship will only give the equivalent amount of in-state tuition as a lump sum in your sons student account. The money after that step can be used for whatever you like including room and board or better yet, a cash check refund if all...

What do you do for DoDMERB????

It's a military physical consisting of two medical checks. One will be like a sports physical but a bit more thorough. Additional tests include a hearing test and movement test of joints and limbs. The other will be a vision test that will check for color blindness, depth perception, damage to...

On AFROTC scholarship and not selected for EA??

It is really odd how that works, unfortunately since EA's are not guaranteed for everyone anymore the minimum is not enough. The 2012 commissioning class was the first class to have a selection rate for SFT. Does NROTC have a similar process to "weed" out the weaker midshipmen? Thanks!

On AFROTC scholarship and not selected for EA??

If YOU walk away from AFROTC during 2nd year, or are dropped for non-performance, you pay back tuition (or enlist at option of AF). Correct. There is something called the freshman option. This is where if a cadet decides sometime in their 100 year that they do not want to be in the program and...

    AFROTC Drop and/or Cut rate

Pima, sorry for not being more in-depth, by the start of our spring semester 2012 here, there were 18 cadets stayed. And the SFT results are being released late March and our packages are being sent out for these boards on the 24th of this month! And yes it is unfortunate that our 200 class is...

On AFROTC scholarship and not selected for EA??

Incorrect, unfortunately he WILL have to pay back the scholarship money. A disenrollment investigation will occur and likely be disenrolled or given the option of returning as a 500 where he will become a "200" again and reapply for an EA the following year (but still paying back the scholarship...

    AFROTC Drop and/or Cut rate

Our detachment started with about 80 cadets, by the start of the 200 year, there was about 25 cadets. Now into FTP we have 18. The trend is that about 60-70% of the beginning class won't finish through the program.

Not looking good for AFROTC EA, options?

You mean pick the option of becoming a 500 (a 200 or 250 who did not complete FT) not a 250 (new cadet enrolling as a 200 who did not complete 100 curriculum) . But this would result in an obvious loss of your scholarship. National Guard and OTS have been more competitive than AFROTC has been in...

Air Force ROTC EA SAT Score

All I'm saying is what's done is done. Packages from most detachments have been sent off already. No need to put added stress to something that you can't control. And if you don't get an EA, then hey, you can become a 500 and retake the SAT and have that score in your new package.

    AFROTC Field Training EA

You're competitive but don't stand out, this is of course because of your non-tech major unfortunately. Your GPA is the median for the selection rate last year. Seeing as how the current 300 class got the short end of the stick for EA's, this year should have more I believe. So I wouldn't worry...

Air Force ROTC EA SAT Score

This is true, your cadre should have already met and racked and stacked the 200's,250's, and 500's. At least my cadre did this past break. I don't believe the weighting has changed this year at all. But ever since they are restricting the number of EA's now, they have been strongly favoring tech...
