    Graduation 2011 Question

KPDad ~ Yes, it is common for parents to attend the cruise and the Ball. We are :thumb: So any notion of President Obama coming must be out since there are unlimited tickets to graduation. That being said, do we know who the speaker will be? We're doing that sunny cheer too.

All Academy Ball SNOWED OUT - boooooooo

Buff is right on. I was more disappointed than DS about AAB being cancelled and I was definitely the instigator in our original attendance in 2007. But I want to point out that while DS dragged his feet to go four years ago during his plebe year, once he went, he had a blast and wanted to attend...

All Academy Ball SNOWED OUT - boooooooo

Lucky NY! I am lobbying for TriState to reschedule - it's a longshot. Our Committee went to a lot of time and trouble beyond the fact that so did many others (and expense too!) Undoubtedly the right call was made (safety is always first) - these things happen, but I also think a snowdate should...

All Academy Ball SNOWED OUT - boooooooo

Misery loves company so I thought I'd share. When my son was a plebe, we attended the incredibly elegant and patriotic Academy Ball at the illustrious and historic Union League in downtown Philadelphia back in 2007. Well.... left there vowing to take my parents and loved ones for his 1C year in...

    Hurricane/parents weekend

Parents Weekend should definitely stay on as planned. Looks like we will just have weather on Friday. Hope the tent holds! In fact, usually the weather following hurricanes is ideal so Sat/Sun/Mon should be perfect. We've been watching hurricane swells all week from the last hurricane which was...

    Hurricane/parents weekend

Yikes! Just heard warning on national news for Long Island on Fri/Sat to watch storm closely - possible 100 mph winds - flooding -evacuations. Just great.

    Shameless Plug....

No, the Mids can only do one intercollegiate sport. Sailing is a Division I sport at Kings Point. Sailing practice is daily to include weekends. Deepsea can elaborate with precision, but I know DS practices every afternoon often missing dinner and participates in regattas or team movements on...

    Parents clothing for PW

It's definitely too early to tell yet, but they are saying Earl may be @200 miles off the NE coast - but then Sat & Sun look beautiful with heat wave gone - here's hoping. But good point, no matter, Beat Retreat is HOT with all of those bodies crammed into the gym. Regardless, it is SO worth...

    Parents clothing for PW

Hurricane Earl Looking at the projected path, it looks like it would be smart to bring foul weather gear. From what I can tell on the weather.com site, Earl will be in the New York area Friday or so.

Finally a Kings Pointer Selected as Superintendent

Upon further scrutiny, I see that two former Supes were alums. How did they fare?

Finally a Kings Pointer Selected as Superintendent

This is nothing short of FANTASTIC news!! When was the last time a KP alum served as Superintendent?

    USMMA Flag

KP have you gone to NEX in the past month? We unraveled the flag at the counter prior to purchasing it just to make sure it was an Academy flag and sure enough it was. I have been looking for the past 4 years for one and had never found one either which is why I was so excited to find it...

    USMMA Flag

Check at the NEX first. I'm quite sure we purchased an United States Merchant Marine ACADEMY flag there when we were up there helping at Indoc!!
