    Civil Prep

I will tell you that it is not an easy row to hoe, out of the dozen or so AOG sponsored cadets that received appointments to WP with my son, only around 4 or 5 actually graduated, once they get to WP they have keep there nose to the grindstone and keep the prize in sight.

    Civil Prep

My son attended MMI in 2007 on an AOG scholarship and graduated from WP in 2012. It was a hard year for him. he had never been away from home before and was very homesick. BUT he will tell you that beast was a breeze for him after his year at MMI, and the extra year helped him succeed during...

    question for Army personel

My son is a 2012 WP graduate, he is finishing up his BOLC in Va and will be stationed at ft hood. We are in Ohio. He is under the impression that when traveling from Ohio to Texas he is only permitted to drive 350 miles a day, that would make the trip 4 days. My understanding is that the Army...

    recruited sports

if you don't have the required stats academically it does not matter how great of an athlete you are, West Point is in the business of training officers for the army not athletes. If you are on the fence they may send you to USMAPS

    Trips home from West Point

I don't think you can stay over Christmas break or for your summer break when your not training, but rest assured there are plenty of West Point parents who would be willing to take you into their home if you did not have the means or time to get home.

    Trips home from West Point

the answer to that would be NO, you are responsible for getting yourself to and from West Point. The army will pay for your transportation from West Point to any training you might have to do and back to West Point, you are ALWAYS responsible for getting yourself home (or whereever else) and...

    Still Stuck in the Dark

I know someone who has not heard a word yet either, last time he spoke to someone he was told that he was # 11 on the waiting list and to sit tight, that was about 3 weeks ago.

    need 3 tickets for r-day

I don't recall there being any tickets required for anything on R day, nor a parade. The new cadets did march by in formation with their new uniforms and hair cuts and there were plenty of families lined up looking for a glimpse of their child. We had a party of about 10 family members with us...

Anyone else still waiting out there?

my daughters friend, who is still waiting was told last week that there were ten slots turned down that were offered to those on the waiting list, that moved him up to #11 on the list. I would say at this time they are just waiting to see who accepts and who declines. If you have heard nothing...

    Deposit Before Admission

Call admissions, tell them you do not have the deposit, they will help you work something out for it. My son's plebe year an old grad paid his for him.
