    Air Force ROTC Commissioning Options

Pima, I appreciate your opinion. I did not sign rated paperwork. Flying has never been a desire of mine. Additionally, I recieved a nonrated, nontech slot to FT, so going rated is not even an option for me.

    Air Force ROTC Commissioning Options

I was wondering if anyone has heard any word as far as commissioning options for AFROTC, class of 2016? As many are probably aware of, last semester, those commissioning in May 2015 are/were given the option to commission into the Reserve/ Guard. I believe this is an effort to reduce the number...

    Citadel question

jct95, adding on to what Bruno said, if SEALs is the goal then enlisting may be the better option. I am in no way acting as if I am an expert on SEAL stuff but from what I have heard, it is actually easier to make it through BUD/S as enlisted because not only do the officer SEAL candidates...

Pros and Cons of The Citadel vs. VMI

Nick0726, I just finished knob year at The Citadel. If you have any questions don't hesistate to ask. But at the end of day, both schools are going to give you an experience that will challenge you beyond anything you have ever done before, both physcially and mentally. I am not exactly...

    AFROTC ICSP Results

Pima got it right on the dot, again about the scholarship. I highly considered applying for the CSO/ABM scholarship, but eventually decided against because it would limit my job choices down to one. Also, it just seemed like there were too many risky variables (i.e. not passing CSO AFOQT...

    AFROTC ICSP Results

My det recieved 10 total ICSPs. This seems like more than the average. 9 were given to 100s and 1 was given to a 200. I know 3 of the 9 were awarded through the express scholarhship program this year, which obligates the recipents to be be either an ABM or CSO after graduation.

Dunninla, You're right I don't know and I am just guessing. It's just pure speculation.

ROTC in College, What to bring?

Take my opinion for what its worth as I am an incoming freshman too, but the less unnecessary "gear" you have like knives, flashlights, multi-tools, etc the better. The more stuff you show up with that is not required, the more you may get chewed out by the upperclassmen. It's like the...

Early Decision Application for The Citadel/VMI?

A 980 SAT is on the low side for acceptance to both schools. However, scores are not everything. Athletics, extracurricular, and service hours all play a part in the application process. I highly recommend you take the the test again to see if you can get a higher score. Try to get a...

    Leadership program

Although my school paid for it, it was not worth it. Yes it may get looked at on a resume since it has the word "leadership" in it (I say that with apprehension), but the seminar themselves did not teach me anything about leadership. I felt as if half the times we were making a craft or playing...

    VMI Overnight

If she can get a leadership position on her tennis or softball team or in student government that would help increase her chances. I would also encourage her to try to take the ACT if she is unable to improve the SAT. Many that do not do too hot on the SAT do well on the ACT.
