    Clothing on Day One

Cadres love hugs.. Seriously, just take it a day at a time. And if it gets to be "too much", just focus on little goals. Just get through breakfast. Just get through lunch and eventually the routine of it will settle in and it won't be as overwhelming. Enjoy the experience b/c a lot of the...

    Parent's Weekend - Duty

If a cadet has duty on Saturday, is he able to get an exception to leave campus for the hours he isn't working?

    R-day Weight

I get that, I guess I was just feeling bad for kids who didn't even get to start the process. I get it, the statistics and forecasting say "x" amount won't show or will show up too heavy or medically DQ'd. So they had those spots already accounted for in the 310, knowing that somewhere around...

    R-day Weight

Tennis Dad nails it, once R-Day starts there are no further additions to the class. To the 6 kids who dropped out, or didn't show....it's awful that 6 other candidates didn't get a chance to fill their shoes. I'm sure they had their reasons, but I would love to know what happened. Also to...

    CGAS Scholars Wait Listed

Thank you for the advice, I will take it and while not hover...certainly help set up a checklist of things that need to be done. Senior year, sports, prom, summer plans...a lot going on. Received a call from a coach originally, but admin officer called first thing the next day. An email...

    CGAS Scholars Wait Listed

DS received was just accepted for CGAS. I have not gotten involved in the process yet, but I have a feeling this might get rushed and don't want any issues. Any advice

To anyone who got an appointment off the waitlist, how were you notified?

    USCGA 2020 appointments

Wait List for DD; echoing UAF's experience at AIM. An emphasis was put on not going EA unless you were an A1 candidate. DD wanted to wait until Nov SAT's and to ace first marking period grades to put a cherry on top of the app. My only advice to 2021's would be to go EA, unless you have a...

    USCGA 2020 appointments

I agree on the randomness being frustrating and the process being holistic doesn't help. Most of these kids would do just about anything if A + B + C = appointment. But that isn't how it works, and with a class as small as USCGA brings in, there isn't going to be answers for those who don't...

    USCGA 2020 appointments

i think that was F15DOC's AIM app from last year. Looks like app might have been According to our DD's AO, date isn't a big factor. But I think that it's been weeks now since we were informed it was up for review. Not having heard anything we are guessing waitlist, or maybe firmly on the...

Wait list: Is this good? Possible Appointment Available Later?

from what I've read, the EA applicant will not be considered for RD. But doesn't mean that she won't get off the wait list after the RD appointments are made.

    Early Action Statistics

Talking to some of the people when my daughter was at AIM, they seem to acknowledge that the PFE scores off campus tend to be inflated a bit. Hoping they don't penalize those who took it at the school at one of the events.

    USCGA 2020 appointments

I think I read on here that 2019 class had 171 EA appointments. 215 would be a pretty big jump in one year. I'm waiting on RA, any idea when the first round of those appointments might start rolling in?
