My son is a Plebe and has applied for a pass for this weekend to attend his cousin's wedding a few hours away. It has been approved "at the Company Level" but he has yet to hear anything concrete from anyone higher. He/we are starting to get a little concerned because I'm scheduled to pick him...

My daughter applied to WP last year and did not get in, but WP gave her an ROTC scholorship to the college of her choice. She chose Penn State and she is excelling there academically and in the ROTC program. She (this evening) stated that she "might re-apply to WP". She is a much better...

Thanks for the good info! This was a huge surprise, DD is very pleased. We definitely didn't expect such a great offer after the TWE. Her plan B school has a great program and she already called a friend who is in the AROTC there now. Our DS graduates USMAPS in a few weeks and will start...

Our DD also received the same e-mail today. We have a lot of questions, but there isn't even a web page to look at. What is the service requirement after graduation? Is it active duty or in the Reserve or NG? I assume they need to participate in the ROTC program during their first year of...

That is great news! It seems that the early Falcon Scholarships are trickling out slowly. It looks like in previous years the bulk of them came out in early May. Congrats!

We have a son at USMAPS who will be in the class of 2018 and a daughter who is next in line on a slate where the person above her was offered an appointment...but as of last Wednesday, hadn't accepted yet. Her plan B is in motion, but she is anxious to hear one way or another from WP.

I thought about that too...I thought maybe it was someone who posted this as an example for appointees to learn from. This is just a horrifying thought as a parent. I have a son at USMAPS and a daughter "on the bubble" for USMA and this is the kind of thing that a parent lays awake at night...

Is tomorrow the deadline for appointees to accept their appointments (we have heard both 15 April and 1 May)? What happens if the Academy doesn't hear from the appointee by the deadline- does the appointment go to the next person on that slate?
