My DS also was awarded the FFS and I'm currently researching the affiliated Prep Schools, NWP is the closest from us about 30 min away.
As soon as I get home, we will put everything on the table (UC Santa Cruz, AFROTC scholarship and FFS) to see what's best for him.

The Scholarship he received is the type 7 AFROTC which is a 4 year scholarship if the school has a AFROTC on campus, but since the school he will be attending does not have a AFROTC on campus...
My DS has not yet received a TWE yet but the plan B is to use his 3 year AFROTC scholarship at UCSC and attend AFROTC at a host school.
