Getting in is the esay part.

While I have no personal experience with USNA, I will say I have to agree with usnsbgo08 about his views. While Mids are not the deciding authority, they are part of the CoC and it is their job to make recommendations and provide input to the cadre that otherwise might not see it. Do some abuse...

The Future of Army Football (and Rich Ellerson)

Shouldn't this be a good thing that he is not one of the highest paid coaches. Granted, you do get what you pay for and Navy does have a better program, but I believe that public universities, especially the service academies should be applauded for not spending big money on coaches. As much as...

    AROTC Class of 2014 Branching

I shall consider myself schooled. Your phrasing is certainly better than mine and there is indeed no shame in either Guard or Reserves. That being said, I only believe that one can only my "performance" was lacking if you truly tried hard enough and can give no better effort. If you do not...

    AROTC Class of 2014 Branching

It is indeed, but it is a merit based system.* If you do not rate your slot you do not rate and should have worked harder. It is not a "nice" truth, but it is how it works. If you want what you want you work for it and it is on you if you do not get it. *I know this year appears to be a...

    AROTC Class of 2014 Branching

Can anyone please explain what the "pre-branching" process of identification was? Maybe one of the other IV's that branched this year. I only recall selecting my branches and giving them to my HRA. Just wondering if I missed something or what?

    AROTC Class of 2014 Branching

Not to make any decisions pre-maturely, still have 4.5 years to make up my mind, but I can definitely say my future plans have changed. Of course I am but one lone example and the other results seem to have many people on these forums receiving the branches they wanted.

    AROTC Class of 2014 Branching

Congratulations on the DMG and 1st choice. At this point it would be nice to see the OML, not that its going to change anything for anyone. But the more you know...

    AROTC Class of 2014 Branching

Aglahad, what I should have done was put EN into my 1st slot as I am a mechanical engineering major. But hindsight is 20/20 and I am glad at least that I put IN into the 1 slot instead of copping out and wondering if the numbers would have worked for me. I also thought my OML was fairly...

    AROTC Class of 2014 Branching

Ordnance. 1st three choices were IN, EN, AR. OD was only in the top 4 because of needing to have a non combat arms branch in the top 4.

    AROTC Class of 2014 Branching

Unless they release comprehensive statistics about this year's class, which I am not holding my breath for, I doubt I will know what it was (specifically) that kept me from getting my first three choices. Edit: The easy answer is that I simply did not do enough to earn what I wanted. No...

    AROTC Class of 2014 Branching

I was told 91 both before the scores were supposedly dropped and yesterday during counseling. I do not know if my LTC did not hear about scores dropping or just decided not to tell me but I was told I had a 91 as my score and I still did not receive my top 3 choices.

    AROTC Class of 2014 Branching

Both. The national OML comes out for all at the same time regardless of commissioning date. The only MS IV's not on the list are the ones that are End of camp commissionees or those accessing in another fiscal year. End of camp commissionees will use this OMLto access when they graduate LDAC.

    AROTC Class of 2014 Branching

You should put an asterisk there lol. *Each cadet chooses the path that they believe suits them the best and then works and hopes the Army gives it to them. Desired results not guaranteed without hard work and motivation.

    parent involvement with application

    1. A lot of these parents are simply asking to know more about what their children are doing as opposed to doing it for them. 2. If their parents are doing their work for them they are losing out on valuable experience and growth and it will hurt in the long run Good on you for doing it all...

    AROTC Class of 2014 Branching

Branched AD with 4th choice Ordinance with no EOD. Pretty happy with the active part but I'm not going to lie when I say that I am not ecstatic about my branch. But such is life, and there's no reason to complain about something that is merit based. Looking forward to commissioning and doing...
