That sounds like they'll be sending you the "Instructions to Candidates" packet. Normally, when your status on the admissions portal becomes "candidate", the USAFA will open up the "Instructions to Candidates" in addition to various online forms for you to complete (i.e. USAFA Forms 145, 146...

Honestly, going on deployment can't hurt. For example, your experiences on deployment could potentially be used to address one of the essay prompts for your application. I don't believe that service academies "look" for someone with a deployment on record nor do they favor someone who does...

The Airmen Availability Code (AAC) 5 that was put on your profile restricts PCS only. Deployments and TDYs are still on the table. Hope this helps! :smile:

I wouldn't think so? A Secret clearance doesn't have to be renewed for 10 years. I hold a TS, for example. I'll print out a copy of my JPAS and my original SF86 and just bring them both to the Academy, to be safe. I would just print out some sort of proof that you hold the Secret clearance...

The SAT is normally taken on a Saturday. I took it through DANTES as well, but that one was on a thursday. My shop didn't require me to take leave. Also, I read your post in the other thread about the SAT/ACT. When I first applied, my combined math and verbal were just barely above the minimum...

I did notice that admissions is giving more direct appointment slots to Airmen this year though. I think the class of 2016 only had 1 direct appointee?
