    West Point Parachute Team

Hey, guys! I've been accepted to the Class of 2019, and I think it'd be really sweet to be on West Point's Parachute Team. I heat it's "really" competitive, and very few make the team every year. To prepare, what should I expect to face when trying out for the team? What can I do now to...

Class of 2019 - How Am I Doing So Far?

Thanks, buff! Unfortunately, I'm thinking I may not get any other noms because of my Pres nom. Maybe the better strategy would have been to wait to apply for the Presidential after Congressional and Senatorial noms went out. Regardless, I'll do what I can to raise my WCS in any way I can.

Class of 2019 - How Am I Doing So Far?

Thanks for the info! It makes sense for the nominating sources to give their nominations to others without one. Before, I thought that was only the case for those hoping to get a Vice-Presidential Nomination. Also, I was wondering whether having multiple nominations will increase a candidate's...

Class of 2019 - How Am I Doing So Far?

I have been 3Qed as of late November, and I have had a Presidential Nomination since March, 2014. I understand Senatorial and Congressional Nominations are already being sent out, but I have yet to receive any. I'm curious whether having a Presidential Nomination may hurt my chances of...

    Appointment from Presidential Nomination?

I have received a Presidential Nomination and read on my candidate portal it is the Secretary of the Army who grants cadetship to candidates with a Pres Nom. Normally, I thought Admissions is who grants cadetship to those with the other 3 types of nominations, those who are 3Qed of course. Is...

SLE 2014 - Who made it?

I hope to see you there, man! Gratz on making it!

    Nominations

I live in District 8. My Representative is Jason Smith. And thanks, Cadet85, for the very useful information!

    Nominations

cadet85, thank you very much for the info! Of course, I will apply for all potential nominations, and do my best in the process, but I'm not entirely sure what you are trying to say in this portion. What's the difference between a primary nomination and a regular nomination? Does a primary...

    Nominations

I understand that you need at least one nomination to be considered by USMA admissions, but does acquiring more than one nomination increase your chances at being accepted? Thanks!

    Required High School Classes

Currently, I'm ranked 2 of 31 in my class (small school) 4.4 GPA 26 ACT (considering my highest scores) Plus, I have mostly core classes. I have much fewer electives, but I still need them to graduate. Does this sound like a strong schedule for senior year? --> College CIS, Chemistry...

    Required High School Classes

Now what if you don't take Geography, Economics, or College Algebra?

    Required High School Classes

Yep! I have 1 summer and 1 school year to take what I need. I'm trying to contact my liaisons officer, forums, etc. in order to find out what I NEED to do. I'd hate for USMA to deny me because of a class I didn't take in highschool.

    Required High School Classes

I've taken math up to Trig and Calculus. I would've done College Algebra, but it's the same hour as Chemistry. Kind of a tricky situation :/ According to the list by 845, I meet all of the requirements besides Chemistry and Physics, plus, Geography and Economics. I take mostly all core classes...

    Required High School Classes

Thanks for the speedy response guys! So I'm going to call Admissions tomorrow for some more solid info and required classes. I think I'm gonna need to take Spanish over the summer, then Spanish II during the school year (I haven't taken any foreign languages yet :/). The tricky thing is that...

    Required High School Classes

I've read that West Point encourages high school students to take Chemistry and Physics, but are they "REQUIRED" courses for consideration for enrollment? And two foreign languages? If I only take 1 foreign language, will I not be competitive for enrollment? Thank you for any input!
