USAA has gone crazy digital (09-09-2016). Closed their only 2 offices in San Diego! Having tons of issues and cannot get anything done (simple access is an issue & takes forever to get a person on phone with new story each time called!). Any recommendations for car insurance or other services?

When filling out credit applications (for apartment or credit card), how does one include BAH? It is technically not "Income" and is worth lots more because it is excluded from "Income Tax".

I have 2 daughters at MIT in NROTC & softball (plus other commitments). Open communication is the key to making it work. One point is that it is a D3 college, where they are not financially dependent on their athletics - they do it because they enjoy it which adds to their college experience...

True, they are separate events. But, if you are applying late as my girls were, there has to be a scholarship available. I would imagine that if they had applied to a popular NROTC program, then they possibly would not have received the scholarship.

VMI82 I am a business owner pursuing Financial Planning Certification and as I near retirement I am fully aware how every year counts. I did not know the different classifications as Pima explained (Pima, thank you).

I noticed that on my daughters' W-2 no Social Security was taken out of their stipends. How does that affect their Soc. Sec. retirement benefit if they do not do the full 20 years? That is, if they are not paying into Soc. Sec. and only do the 5 years after college, they will have zero 's on...

Is it the same for NROTC? And is it PRK or Lasik? I was told only PRK was allowed.

My students' accounts have NOT received the scholarship funds as of yesterday. Luckily the school works well with the Unit & shows the credit in anticipation of the funds coming.
