How much do NROTC midshipmen usually run during PT?

I run about 2-6 miles a week on average. My unit tends to do a lot of High Intensity Interval training so even though we may not run a whole bunch one PT session, we still get a good cardio session in.

    NROTC Scholarship Chances

Hey there unbenchable, I think you stand a good chance, but the only way to know for sure is to apply and kill that interview. Keep the fire going in regards to academics, leadership, and athletics. I myself life in Stockton, CA and was raised in the Bay Area! I'm getting done with school at...

NROTC Wisdom From a Fellow Midshipman

Another great and valid point! Every unit has different operations and functions differently to accomodate their situation(s). 4/c's are indeed encouraged to not room together because building a network of friends outside of your unit is important in my opinion. It makes you feel like you're...

NROTC Wisdom From a Fellow Midshipman

With a mindset like that, anything is possible! Thank you so much and thank you for serving our country. JAG must be exciting! That's an honor for you to say such a thing! But yes, I agree! I'm sure this advice is applicable to nearly any form of commissioning. I am a tad bit ignorant in other...

    Crosstown Univeristy vs Host University?

I go to UCSD and my host university is University of San Diego. This is about a 20 minute commute. San Diego State University is also a cost host university and that is about 30-40 minutes away. Traveling is definitely a pain in the butt. We have to wake up earlier in order to make it to the...

NROTC Wisdom From a Fellow Midshipman

Hey everyone! I just wanted to take some time out of my busy lifestyle to give back in any way that I can. I myself am in NROTC at UC San Diego. I'm a Tier 1 Nanoengineering major at one of the most academically competitive schools in the country. In addition, I am in one of the top five largest...

    NROTC College Tier Majors

Recently was admitted into UC San Diego and I am seriously considering going there. My NROTC scholarship is a Tier 1 Major, which is all engineering of course. When I applied to my UC colleges, I didn't even start my NROTC application yet, so I was ignorant to the whole Tier system. There was no...

    Waitlisting

I've been seriously considering waitlisting myself at some colleges until I finally receive admission decisions from them all before making a decision on if I want to or need to request a unit change in full. I just want to make sure I end up enrolling at a college that I can activate my NROTC...

    Application Status

Greetings, everyone! :thumb: Upon word of my scholarship notification, I began work on my DoDMERB process. I finished my medical exams in late January and records on my DoDMets account online show that the Opto exam was received by Concord on 2/5/14 and the MPhysical on 2/21/14, respectively...

    2014 NROTC Scholarship Notification

I think that's so cool that 3/5 of the colleges I chose are similar to yours! UCLA, USC, and UCSD. That would be offly neat if our fates aligned and we ended up going to the same college! :shake: I submitted my application the day before Halloween and I got notified on Jan 24 with an assignment...

    Finished DoDMERB Exams, now what?

Wow. You just soared through the whole process, didn't you? Haha that's good to hear that you passed so easily. Great insight, thanks! I just got word that my paperwork made it to DoDMERB so I hope it's all good.

    Hearing tests...

I got a perfect score on my hearing test, despite me being guilty of listening to some generally loud music all too often. I don't think the music has necessarily affected me, but I do think in general, it could easily have affected my generation. All too often I hear fellow peers' music even...
