    Astigmatism

I have a mild astigmatism (I forgot specific degrees) and was scared I wouldn't pass for a while. I didn't make any issue of it, and it turns out my vision in both eyes is correctable to 20/15.

If he read the portal correctly, he would have noticed that it said that "more information will be avaliable in late April".

    Best Majors at USAFA

I only said to avoid chemistry because it is a notoriously hard field. A good chemistry student in high school will still face a lot of difficulties there. There aren't a great number of civilian jobs for chemistry majors either, unless you either go to medical school or become a professor. The...

    Best Majors at USAFA

The people there are some of the most insightful individuals I have ever met. I'm sure you can say that about any professor at the USAFA, though. I just commonly know that a lot of cadets collectively view it as the department, but most haven't said why. Probably because you get out what you get...

    Best Majors at USAFA

The managment department is viewed as (arguably) the best department at the U.S. Air Force Academy. It is often picked because it's regarded as one of the easier majors, but the department is considered outstanding. Political science is also known for being pretty well regarded. I know these...

    Class of 2019 Appointment Thread

Also received my offer to the prep school this morning. I'm from southern Nevada.

When did you submit your application

I submitted it fully completed by October 30th. I haven't heard anything yet.

    ACT Scores

I don't understand any of this. The ACT has a composite score. The USAFA superscores. "Balancing" out anything makes zero sense. If you meet the scores, you're good, if you do not, then it's set in stone like that. An 800 in SAT reading (for example) won't offset a 400 in math if that's what...

How long to hear back from Dodmerb?

It took a week to find out I was fully qualified. Paperwork generally takes 1-2 days to fax over. Since you've already taken it, I would continually check to see if your paperwork has been received yet. If you happen to have a remedial, you'll want to get it knocked out right away.

    NV Nominations

Update: I've been nominated to the USAFA by congressman Horsford. Check your mailbox! I received it today although it's dated Dec. 1st.

    NV Nominations

Hi, I'm a candidate from Nevada myself for the class of 2019. I also did the interviews this weekend too (I'm from southern NV, if it makes any difference). They use the latter form you described from what I understand. There are no principle nominations in NV, nor is it possible to receive two...

Do I qualify for a presidential nom?

Hello everyone, I was just wondering if any of you guys here could potentially answer this question I had regarding the presidential nomination. Basically, I asked my father what his length of service was in the military (he was in the USMC). He then informed me that he served for a "6x2"...

    Results timeline

I checked on dodmets, and it appears they received my opto exam with no problems so far. The "applicants pending date" is scheduled for 11/6, which is quite a bit beyond the "10 days". Could this also be due to the fact my physical examination hasn't taken place yet (it's scheduled for...

    Results timeline

I just had my eye evaluation today, and my full physical one is this Thursday. From what I understand, Dodmets has to send the information to dodmerb, then dodmerb has to process it? I was curious about how long does it take for these individual processes to happen. Thanks.
