Of course that makes perfect sense! Thanks so much and the advice is terrific! Out of curiousity- if he going to an out of state school does he apply to the local MOC or his home state? I'm not sure how that would work to fly home to interview and then fly back again? Seems unlikely.

Christcorp, GREAT advice as always! I will tell you, my son did not get accepted to either USAFA or USMA and looking at his stats would make you wonder why. He attended both SLS's and wanted nothing more and has worked towards it since freshman year. But this was the toughest year to get into...

I may be answering my own question researching it because it seems to fall under an engineering major when looking up engineering majors. So I think he's good since it just states "engineering " in general.

I have a quick question. My DS received the 4 yr AROTC and listed comp sci as his major but the offer letter says "engineering" Does he have to change to an engineering major at that university?

Once my DS applied for the SA's and did the Dodmerb it showed up on the site. After he applied for the ROTC scholarships... it showed up later for the AROTC a week after the Jan board met and we never saw it for the AFROTC although he received both.

Hi Patentesq- Yep- My DS interviewed locally and he had the status change this week and all 4 of his choices were out of state (if that is indeed what you are asking) Of course the local school tried to lure him over but he was set on a SMA

The sun will come out tomorrow.... If I were a betting gal I would say at some point your DS will not bummed and things will turn around :) Like they are saying- it's a process. Who knows their formula for working it out but we've all certainly tried to guess!

I gave up trying to figure out what formula they use in this process! It is so confusing it scrambles your brain thinking too hard! Thank goodness everyone has this site to bang their heads together and support one another
