USAFA Class of 2022 Appointment Thread

Those a day tour you can go on. But majority of the time appointees come by themselves for the three day trip. If you come out here with your child you will have to find things to entertain your self with, as they will be running around doing/seeing a lot at Usafa. The first day they have a...

USAFA Class of 2022 Appointment Thread

There’s usually a bunch right at the end of the school year. I only know of those two because I signed up to host during them. I haven’t seen any more come across our emails recently though.

Also don’t make a rap song. Very bad. Gets you noticed very quickly. Right when the juniors and sophomores learnt hey are working bct, they start watching social media for ridiculous things that appointees are posting.

USAFA Class of 2022 Appointment Thread

There is a Preppie appointee tour on 7 March, that is only for incoming cadets who attended the prep school this past year. They will only be with cadets for lunch. There is a Appointee Tour for incoming basics that are either coming out of high school, another college, etc. directly into Usafa...

    Parents of 2022'ers

You can also watch the KAFA Facebook page. Cadet photographers and professional photographers post their photos on a Flickr link there. (I did it last summer) and you get to see some shots that you won’t see on webguy (cadets are able to go where Kelsie and Karina (the webgirls) can’t go (aka in...

    Your son/daughter goes where???

I love being told by old teachers from high school “oh honey, you were so smart in high school. Why did you go enlist? You were so much smarter than enlisting. You had so much going for you”

    Importance of Summer Seminar

I didn’t go to SS and I’m about to graduate in May from USAFA. Just try to go visit Usafa before I Day to get a feel for the place. Sometimes, based on how well you do at SS then you have a better chance of being accepted to Usafa. However, you have already been accepted so that doesn’t matter...

    2018 Summer Seminar Application Status

I would actually suggest going to as many summer seminars as possible because each school is different

    2018 Summer Seminar Application Status

You can attend both of them. There’s no rule saying you can’t go to two different academies. I attended summer seminar at Usafa and at coast guard and did candidate visits to navy.

    2018 Summer Seminar Application Status

Trust me the Lts in admissions are working really hard on this. But like the military they have many other things to do. This week they have been hosting interviews for the next wave of admissions Lts (im a hopeful). Just give it some time and you will learn soon enough. When you get to Usafa...

    Falcon Visitation Experience

For clothing, bring a jacket and jeans and a sweatshirt. It will be very cold on the tzo and at the Air field.

    Falcon Visitation Experience

I host a lot of FVE’s (unfortunately on stand by for this one) but it’s really helpful for people who are interested in usafa. You get to attend classes, go to the Air field, see the special classes, go to the gym, live in the dorms with your host, see how a Cadet day really is, eat mitches...

    A-Day 22

Also watch on the Kafa Facebook page. It’s run by Cadet photographers and professional photographers that work with yearbook. (Kafa is free, but may not show everyone cuz we have other jobs to do as cadets)

Was a Service Academy your first choice?

And if your not sure about back up plans or haven’t had the chance to really take a look at the schools, sign up for summer seminars, admissions visits, candidate visits, etc.

Was a Service Academy your first choice?

I am a senior at Usafa and can honestly say that this place was my first choice, but all of my back up schools were other academies or rotc. I could have gone where ever I liked (sometimes regret choosing sa over rotc) but in the long run this will be better. I’ve learned a lot in my 4 years...
