    Braces

It definitely did not require a Waiver. We would have answered any questions they asked on the questionnaire, but I do know that there was no waiver process initiated. When she recently had it removed the dentist just made her a clear retainer that she can wear if she chooses to.

    Braces

My DD reported on IDay with the permanent wire behind her teeth and no issues at all. She is a rising Firstie and just had it removed as it is recommended that it be removed by the age of 21.

    PFE vs. CFA

I have a quick question. The CGA website mentions the PFE, how to train for it, how to score it etc. It also mentions the CFA - but I can't find any more information on it. If a candidate is applying to USNA and CGA, can the use the CFA to satisfy both? Or do they have to do PFE for CGA and...

    CIS Login

My DD received her as well over a week or so ago, and she like you, did not get NASS but attended a CVW in April. If you don't hear soon, you may want to contact an Admissions Officer for advice.

Methalcholine Challenge Test for Medical Waiver

Congrats HassamaMama!! So pleased for you. When my DD took it, we had to stay on top of facility to send info to DoDmerb, but once it was - Waiver came through pretty quickly. Keep us posted - and congrats again!!

Questions re: Family Weekend after Plebe Summer

Last summer, we rented a house in DTA - which was the best decision we could have made. While we did go out for a meal or two, for the most part cooked meals at the house, let DD reconnect with us and her friends, watch TV and movies and just relax. I wouldn't change a moment of that weekend...

Methalcholine Challenge Test for Medical Waiver

My DD took this test and passed at 130% above normal. It is a 'challenge' and is meant to challenge you, but is clearly meant to identify asthma and related pulmonary issues. My DD had used a portable inhaler once for a type of flu infection, but as it was after she was 13, they DQ'd and made...

Yet another Newbie USNA Parent Question

I know exactly how she feels. We have a DD who is currently a Plebe, and I can say, with certainty, that visiting often has helped me tremendously (and has been appreciated by our DD!). Often we will arrive on a Friday evening, and meet her for a quick dinner on the Yard. Saturday's can vary...

Second Time on the Roller Coaster

OMG ... your post just gave me chills (and a few tears!!). Congratulations to you and your DS!!!!!!!!!!!! My DD is a senior in high school, and this is our first time around and we are so hopeful that it will work out the way she wants. But reading your post helps to know that there where...
