Physical conditioning is priority at R-day-Beast

To add to what BigBear said, I've heard that if you had a height/weight issue, the amount, or lack of pull-ups, came into account. For example, if you were considered to be too far over, but could perform some pull-ups, then that helped your case. If you were overweight for your height and could...

    quick question about mail

Sir/Ma'am, There are no consequences for the amount of mail. However, pink envelopes with hearts all over it may be the cause for some push-ups:yllol: True story: My Beast roommate's BF sent her scented letters every single day. Every. Single. Day. His dedication was impressive, but the...

    What to Wear

If you wear your low quarters, make sure they are broken-in and semi-comfortable. R-day involves a lot of walking/standing around in lines waiting for various things, which is hard on your feet. I saw kids that got awful blisters from wearing their brand new low quarters on R-day. Otherwise...

    Counseling Resources at West Point

USMA has plenty of counseling resources available to cadets. The main resource, besides chaplains, is CPD (Center for Personal Development). I'm pretty sure all the officers that work in CPD are licensed psychologists, so there is no need to worry that the treatment/counseling you receive is...

    Land Navigation during beast

Some "luckier" cadets get the NODS that only cover 1 eye (I don't remember what they're called.) If given the option, just say no to the NODS. They are not worth the trouble of having to constantly worry about breaking/losing them. Also, depth perception goes out the window. I think I found...

    Land Navigation during beast

My company did night Land Nav...and we got to use our flashlights "sparingly." But as BigBear pointed out, you more than likely won't have to do night Land Nav.

    Ask a sponsored prepster

Breaking sheets on their racks= getting under your issued blanket in your bed and having to remake your bed in the morning. Believe me, not breaking sheets saves a lot of time :thumb:
