Length of a carrer in SEALs

Now I may not be an expert on the topic of SEALs (I'm an AROTC scholarship cadet, hopefully commisioning into MI), but I do know that between all SF admission processes, 90% of the guys there will have the exact same thought in their heads. They will all feel that they were born to be a...

    Study Abroad

My PMS mentioned this during the interview. Most cadet's (or at least UIowa cadets) are encouraged to study abroad after their Freshman year, and during the spring of the following year, though I'm not sure how the spring one works out. He also mentioned that the Army can pay for a portion of...

AROTC Status Update from January Board

I'd give them more time to process and post it. I sent in my paperwork to transfer my scholarship to another school a month ago and my status was updated just this weekend. It's a very small group of people working with a great deal of paperwork. If the certified mailing said it went through...

    Non-Technical Major Question

Over the past year the army has been placing heavy emphasis on improving its MI and Foreign Relations branches to meet the strategy changes occuring in the Middle East. Because of this, the Army has begun stressing language and travel abroad experience to ROTC. When I interviewed with my PMS for...

    Army ROTC Scholarship Application Process

This is generally how the process plays out: 1. Sign up online, fill out your application. 2. You should then be contacted by one of more of the schools that you listed on your application about setting up an interview. 3. Take the Presidential Physical Fitness test with a gym teacher...

    Second Board Review

I have gotten into the school, I spoke again with the admissions officer through e-mail and he was shocked that I hadn't gotten an offer from the school (U of Iowa) and that they would look into getting me an offer.

    Second Board Review

He said that I was not offered any type of scholarship for the round. He also told me when had no idea why the system gave me the DODMERB info, which is why I'm guessing it was some type of computer error on the status site or on the actual CC database.

AROTC 2nd Board Results are posted

Not sure if it was just an individual error or not, but my status changed to the DODMERB info and I wasn't actually awarded a scholarship. I'd recommend everyone who has gotten this status to try and confirm the it with a PMS or Scholarship officer from their school by e-mail.

    Second Board Review

So I emailed the scholarship officer at my #1 school and found out that I didn't actually get an offer, even though the site listed info on getting the DODMERB. I guess this means another month of waiting :unhappy:

    Second Board Review

Just checked my app's status online and it's updated! "You may check your medical qualification status by visiting the Department of Defense Medical Examination Review" I think this means I got it?
