summer seminar: quick visit to the clinic?

ok, I have a bit of an odd dilemma. I am volunteering at the hospital this summer and have to get a TB test tomorrow (standard procedure). It has to be checked between 48 and 72 hours after the test, basically saturday or sunday. I just get a form when they do the test and any nurse or doctor...

    PEP

haha alright. running is my sport so I get very into it, and I would love to go sub 6 which i could definitely on a track (I have very specific pacing ha). but I suppose the mile portion of the CFA is not quite like a track meet where every second is a huge deal. ;)

    PEP

thanks. do you know if it's marked at intervals? i have a shot at maxing out or damn close if i can time quarter miles, but i'm not sure otherwise.

quick question regarding the CFA (and this is a marginally appropriate thread for that haha): is the mile run on a 1/4 mile track, or is it a mile long road run/course? thanks! heading up to annapolis this saturday and can't wait to take that CFA! heh :)

    NASS Problem

i can't seem to find my sheet but as i recall you need about 7 pairs of running shorts and shirts, 8-10 of underwear and socks, a pair of tennis shoes as well as an older pair for getting dirty (i think there's a mock sea trials kind of thing or something, unless i dreamt it), photo id for...

    NASS

    NASS

I received something about a week ago; however, I received my acceptance letter sooner than most on this board and so sent the money in a lot earlier. I would expect something in the coming weeks though...

    basketball throw

ok thanks. yeah i will try to find that thread and sift through the conflicting info to get some idea. I know I can perform well on pushups, situps, and run (probably max out on all or 2), but I thought they were all weighted equally?

    basketball throw

I'm attending NASS II and I want to make sure I am prepared for the basketball throw. Does anyone know the minimum to pass the basketball throw? I could only find the max out online but maybe I completely overlooked it. Also, advice on technique would be very much appreciated. I feel like there...

    Telling your parents

everytime it comes up, my mother shoots me a disapproving look and informs me that "it's just suuuuuch a big commitment." -measured response- "but it's a really big commitment...do you realize that?" as if I'd be bothering if I were trying to avoid commitment. I think my mom was upset I got...

what are some things i could do to help prepare

god i'm glad i don't have to compete with you! nice record, keep it up, don't fall into the slacker pothead trap or anything extreme, and i think you will be quite competitive. good luck!

    PSAT scores

haha. agreed. Ivies have higher average GPA's and standardized test scores for admissions. all that was meant. and thank you, I'm sure I will post with plenty of questions and updates during the next year. :)

    PSAT scores

woah there ;) I am applying to USNA and not any Ivies and have no doubt I'd get a better education there (USNA). Simply talking in terms of average SAT scores...you have to show a lot more than standardized test-taking skills to get into USNA (which is a good thing). Whereas it seems like many...

    PSAT scores

I think scores on the PSAT/SAT were probably pretty important in the summer seminar applications. I'm a high school junior and I got a 231 (last year) and 223 (this year) on PSAT and then a 2320 on the SAT. I heard back about NASS within a few weeks, when it seems like so many people have had...
