We too, are nearinsh to Denver- northern Colorado, and everyone we know seems to beyond thrilled for our DD, who just received her appointment to West Point. Haven't yet heard negative yet! (Or free, for that matter).
Well- it was a long time ago- my DD is the candidate for USMA now. We just live across the border into Colorado, but there are times I wish we still lived up there- like now that she is waiting for an appointment!
I have never met ANYONE who lived in Alaska that didn't want to go back. My DH did quite a bit of contract work around Anchorage and he says if there was ever another opportunity we would be there too. I grew up in northern Wyoming so it wouldn't be so much different.
DD got a national award for her sport a couple of weeks ago and I know she emailed her FFR and LO with the info but not sure it got into her file at admissions. At this point the counselor at school needs to send the info, correct?
I have experience with live streaming- several times now I have been up in the wee hours to watch DD compete in her sport halfway across the world. One time she called me and asked if I has seen her go, and I had messed up the time zones and missed it....
Thank you!! I have both a DS and DD- but it is DD who is the candidate. (She is more like a DS actually, LOL) She is 3Q and has 3 noms to USMA. And a good Plan B with the AROTC 4 year scholarship (Cornell). The waiting is far tougher on me!
DD did not get that email and so maybe no BFE. Trying to be patient. I only saw one appointment from our state on the list so maybe it still might happen in this wave. (There should be at least 10 slate winners this year from Colorado.)
My first cousin went to USNA and became a fighter pilot with a great long career in the military. Several times during those years I wondered if he would react or give any opinion of the POTUS at the time (which I knew was of a different mindset than most of the family.) NOT ONCE did he comment...
I will probably totally give away my state, lol, but in fall of 2017 (DS went through at this time) it was around 460 applicants for the senators to interview, and this year it was around 450.
