I have a freshman son whosaid the Air Force was paying the tuition part of his scholarship differently than in the past. In the past the AF paid all of tuition&fees (up to the max scholarship Type). They paid pretty late, but they did pay. I know this from experience with my 2 older sons. BUT now AF will pay tuition & fees ONLY if there was a remaining amount due after any other scholarships paid. My son's Type 2 scholarship will cover all of tuition&fees at his school, but since another scholarship will also cover his tuition&fees, the Air Force will pay nothing. His plan was for the other scholarship to pay tuition&fees, and the amount from the Air Force (which would arrive later) would help cover dorm/meals. From what I understand the Air Force will be making no tuition&fees payment in his situation. Has anyone else heard this? I have a 3rd year AFROTC son at another college and he has not heard this. Looking to find out any information on this topic.
