    Restricted line officer?

Out of curiosity, how does the Naval Reserve recruit officers? Or are they very enlisted heavy?

Most open curriculum schools with ROTC?

Very good to know! I'll look back into it. Also reassuring! I've been looking at CUA and Fordham quite a lot for this same reason. Do they accept AP tests? I'll have over a dozen by the end of my Senior year.

Most open curriculum schools with ROTC?

Thank you! Siena was a college I was looking at (I quite like the Fransiscans) but turned down as they seem to have fairly minimal aid. Good to hear that Union is crosstown from them.

Most open curriculum schools with ROTC?

About the college generally, it seems to have a bit of a reputation as a Greek school and I'd rather not be involved in fraternities and the like, might something like that cause issues? Or would that be accepted?

Army, my apologies for not specifying.

Most open curriculum schools with ROTC?

Hello, I was curious if any schools with an open (e.g., Brown/Amherst/Grinnell) or relatively flexible (e.g., University of Rochester) curriculum have on-campus (or reasonably close crosstown, unlike Vassar, which offers a "crosstown" program several hours away) ROTC programs? While I...

    Flight Academy or Boys State?

While I am not experienced, I would say that having a pilot's license is far more important/useful in the long term than attending Boys' State, no? While the event might be fun, a pilot's license is something that others pay thousands for, and having it at 17 is impressive.

Congratulations! With luck I will find myself in your shoes in a year.

    Norwich vs The Citadel

One thing that concerns me when about the Citadel is the low rate that I have heard actually commission. I read that it was as low at 18% of graduates compared to 40-60% at Norwich. It seems a bit surprising, though, as I don't see how 82% of students would select a Senior Military College...

    Army vs. Marines

Hello, I am not sure if this is the correct thread category, as I am presently in my Junior year of high school, however as it regards post-commissioning life/opportunities I thought it fit better here than in any of the Academy/SMC/ROTC related forums. While I have definitively eliminated the...

    Phases of the Ratline

How separated are genders at VMI? Are classes separate? Do male and female cadets march separately on rat line? Will a rat always have a dyke of their same gender and vice versa?

How could changing my last name effect the scholarship process?

Thank you! That makes sense and I will make sure to do so. Much appreciated.

American born Eileen Gu is competing for china...

I completely agree. I am typically very adverse to saying things like this, but I wish we would take the initiative and deport her conclusively. An American is an American and must be so first and foremost, before any other national identities. When the United States is off the table in any...
