    Parents on R-Day

parent visits... In my opinion this year as my son was a plebe we were fortunate to visit for R Day, A Day and Plebe-Parent Weekend. I loved them all. R-Day was for us as parents... we needed to see him growing and changing in just that one day. We needed to see the post, take the tours...

    R-DAY SAF dinner

We are still planning on coming to the dinner... perhaps a BUMP to the top and someone can refresh the directions to the restaurant... For us I think the dinner with others will be a needed distraction and diversion... my son is already tired of all the advice I keep sharing with him... ;-)

    R-DAY SAF dinner

dinner Son says "maybe"... put us down for 3... I think it would be fun, and maybe "easier" than a dinner where I might be tempted to give advice etc the night before his biggest step forward in his life so far. Proudmama

Looking for a little information regarding R Day... After we attend the meeting with our son, then we say "see ya" and he begins his journey... we plan to stay to see him march in the parade (is that what it is called?) and take the oath at the end of the day... any tips or tricks on actually...

    Emotions

National Anthem Oh Geee.... IN hotel room on business trip and the National Anthem (even slightly off key) and the pictures of soldiers and the flag makes my eyes leak tears... will it ALWAYS be this way when my son is at WP and beyond? :-) Rhetorical question.... I know. Proudmama

    Thank you etiquette

My son sent hand written mailed thank you notes to MOC and to those who wrote letters when he finished the initial process. When he pushed the "I accept" button on his USMA portal last night he sent less formal notes of appreciation and to let those people who helped him know that he had...

    Boot Letter

I don't have any first-hand experience, but this footwear is going to be important to the health and well-being of all plebes and to have them fitted and broken in before Beast totally makes sense to me... also, because so many plebes have never worn this kind of footwear, getting used to the...

    Boot Letter

personal experience with boot purchase When we were on our visit to West Point last week we were able to go to the PX (Post Exchange) and purchase boots and low quarters there without a "boot letter". The wonderful woman in the PX named "Pinky" said she is allowed to sell the required boots...
