I was told that more than likely if I was selected for MI I would be in combat arms until I made Captain or 1LT if I was lucky, then transfer to MI. Then I was told that if I was selected for MP then I would go straight to MP. Glad to here the same thing from more than one person.
Thanks guys. Just so I'm clear, I wasn't going to shoot for the minimum. I just wanted to know where I would fall right now. So I'm just going to stay as close to a 4.0 as possible and stay in shape now. The reason I say this is because the two branches I would love to get would be MI or MP, so...
I understand that the needs of the army come first.
I understand there is a lot that goes into which branch you get.
So assuming there were minimum requirements to get number 1 on your wishlist of branches, what would they be? Like in terms of GPA, PT Test, leadership roles, etc...
Thanks Memphis. I sure hope I have what it takes. My uncle was stationed in New Orleans when Katrina hit. He didn't evacuate so he actually knows how it was and uses that phrase quite often.
I guess the stickies are stickies for a reason lol. The averages are lower than I expected for everything except for the mile, but I guess when you focus on your running something has to give way. Thanks again.
I know there are maximums, but are there minimums for the scores? I'm asking because my one mile time blows like Katrina, and I don't want to fail the test because of it. I'm new to all of this so any help is appreciated.
And don't forget they will take your bast math score from one test and your best verbal from another test assuming your best were on different tests as many others' are.
The SAT tests more problem solving and "figuring out" skills whereas the ACT tests knowledge. Like in my case. 25 on the ACT math and a 710 on the SAT math. Big difference in score because the test is a big difference
The whole process of nominations is confusing to me. I think the academy could just accept a certain % of candidates from each state/race/income level/hometown setting, and keep the academic selection the same. It would keep the overall diversity of accepted applicants the same, which is what...
