No "message" intended, just some disappointment and surprise. The world won't end and the Academy will do well, as they always have. This forum and most of the users have been fun and educational.

Moving on Well, despite an offer of help via this forum, we've heard nothing from the Academy or any of it's reps, BGO, CGO, etc. We're going to move on and visit Columbia, Princeton, Fordham maybe Harvard and ND. One may need a baseball "hook" and the other will likely be a candidate on...

No, it's all quite fascinating. I had a "sheltered" 4 years at a small Naval Hospital so long ago my original service number was changed to SS#. Spent a couple hours on the USS Wasp, just so I could say I was on a ship, not exactly "salty". No complaints, I didn't have to spend time in the...

So, are the detailers mids or fully commissioned? One photo shows an ensigns collar bar with service medals on left breast. I presume a former enlisted, now a mid, would be allowed to proudly wear any service medals earned as enlisted, would they not?

Anyone know the history of why they wear enlisted whites? Are the brownies fully commissioned or upper class cadets? I noticed one had service medals on the left breast.

The curious thing is, one son got his candidate number in late May after being turned down for NASS, his twin just received this letter today from a CGO. I'm not certain when the ACT scores were auto-forwarded but, son 1 received his number likely before the ACT scores came in.

Holy Smokes! Letter from CGO came today suggesting he submit SAT/ACT scores. However, ACT should have been forwarded back in April when they took it and no candidate # on letter. There was no method to contact this CGO on the letter. my other son received Candidate # 2 months ago

As of now, only one son has received a number. Waited on hold forever trying to reach the Academy by phone to see if there's a glitch or twin won't be issued a candidate number? Any suggestions?

May I ask what his ACT scores were?

    Candidate Number

Uh oh! One son received his candidate number yesterday but, his twin didn't. I hope this is just a mail/admin glitch. Although, I wonder if their recent ACT scores may have influenced this. The son who received the # got a 31 on the ACT, the other got a 24. Guess we wait and see

    computers for 2014

Fruity side? There are NO "PC's" by any manufacturer that compare to the security, reliability and ease of use of any Mac. "Fruity"? The Mercedes Benz of computers? LOL

Macs are best NOTHING beats a Mac and the new Ipads would fit he "netbook"need. The old idea of incompatibility simply is no longer true with the Intel processors.

    Candidate Number

I don't have his email addy and haven't received a candidate number for either son. The NASS apps supposedly initiated the USNA application process but, nothing since the NASS denial.
