    CIET Cancelled?

Our DS just called yesterday... He just got the nod to attend CIET this summer. He is a contracted MSII. Good thing, as he passed on a really good internship offer...

    1st week of AROTC

Hello, I found information on the CIET (Cadet Initial Entry Training) program for cadets finishing freshman year. Although it won't be implemented until Summer of 2016. "Since USACC's comprehensive review of senior ROTC programs in 2012 and 2013, the secretary and chief of staff of the Army...

    1st week of AROTC

Good to know, many thanks for the updated info / intel. Will need to ensure DS is aware and asks questions of his Battalion cadre & staff. I know he would love to participate in Army activities over the summer if offered and available.

    1st week of AROTC

For most freshman ROTC cadets, nothing happens over the summer between Freshman and Sophomore year. LDAC does not occur until after Junior year. There may be some opportunities (CULP, etc.) for the summer after Sophomore year (normally very competitive and usually the cadre "invites"...

    Fall 2014 Stipend?

Fall 2014 Stipends are really dependent on the local unit (when they submit paperwork, etc.), when classes officially start, etc. For our DS (AROTC 4-Year contracted scholarship recipient started Fall 2013), he received a partial month stipend for August 2014 which was deposited into his...

Army ROTC and the National Guard?

Hi Kelsie; Regarding regular, non-specific ROTC training in the Army; National Guard, Reserve and Active Duty typically attend the SAME training courses as blended student classes. One possible exception would be state specific training limited to the National Guard. Some states have a...

    still awarding??

Just to echo what has already been shared... DO NOT GIVE UP! Depending on a number of variables (school size / stature being one of them), the Batallion may very well indeed have some 4-year and 3-year scholarship monies left to allot PRIOR to Fall Semester. My DS contacted the ROO at...

    Unallocaed Scholarsip Money

Unallocated Scholarship $$ funds Yes, that is correct. However some battalions award these prior to the start of Fall Semester. 1) The Battalions get a list of scholarship non-selected candidates from Cadet Command (National Level). 2) If they have unallocated scholarship funds, they...

    2nd board results

ChildeRoland; Please be aware that there may be some unused, unallocated (i.e. scholarships that were turned down, or where recepient was medically disqualified, etc.), that in some cases end up going to the ROTC unit at university. These can be awarded as early as July. Typically...

    ROTC Scholarship tuition payment

Thank you for the update!!! Very good news indeed. :thumb: I will let my DS know and tell him to start bugging (be insistent) on his contracting paperwork submittal to the Brigade. From what I have heard, it may be 30 to 45 days for payment to be made once the Brigade approves the payment funding.

    AROTC Scholarship Payments Delayed indefinitely

Oh, and since they have not yet contracted, no stipend backpay to when they were sworn it... so $300 per month stipend gone too. Given the current federal budget shortcomings, I suspect that our DS may be waiting months to contract... if then. Maybe not even until his Sophomore year the way...

    ROTC Scholarship tuition payment

MtnMom; Sorry, I double-checked with my DS this afternoon... NO, he and the other 3 four-year scholarship recipients have not yet contracted. 3rd Brigade who manages a (Midwest) multi-state area of school Battalions said no one with a post 2015 graduation year (MSIIs and MSIs) will...

    AROTC Scholarship Payments Delayed indefinitely

Correction: DS and the other 3 cadets have all their contracting paperwork completed, but HR had NOT submitted due to the budget issues. So, they were sworn in in August, passed APFT, had all their paperwork completed, and now are penalized because their contract packets were not submitted...

    AROTC Scholarship Payments Delayed indefinitely

Agreed, plus the added stress on the affected MSIIs (Sophomores) and MSIs (Freshman). I know for fact that there are 4 cadets (all Freshman 4-year scholarship recepients including my DS) all impacted. They all were sworn in after Initial Week in August, but not all passed APFT at that time...
