I second staying at IHG! You can walk to the ceremony, and great breakfast, too! Not a lot to do around there and everything is pretty much closed on Sunday, FYI.

Yep! My DS is a 4-yr AROTC as well…. Double major and a minor. Graduates in May!

Hello and welcome to the Forum! My son is about to commission in May, despite having had thoracic VBT in 2018. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that your DD will get a waiver request on her behalf, but if she’s truly keen on serving, I’d encourage her to apply AROTC if she hasn’t already.

Out of curiosity, had you let them know you were a 4-yr winner? Regardless, congrats!!

Just be careful in regards to a 4-yr AFROTC scholarship. They really aren’t guaranteed for four years, and cadets can be cut from the program after two. There was a huge issue with this a few years back.

Did you send in all that additional info? I would imagine once his DODMERB portal opens, he can submit all of that supporting material. If it’s already open (check junk mail if the invite should have come thru!), submit NOW even without their asking.

Isn’t the physical good for two years? And as I understand it, unfortunately, what they waiver one year may not be the case the next.
