thanks My major concern is that the $30/month data plan that is required to have the phone will go mostly unused as i will not have that much time once the ac year begins. A different phone would allow my family to best use the data plan attached to the phone and still allow me to call home.

Is it worthwhile to have a smartphone as a plebe? I will most likely be handing my phone down to my brother due to costs,what do most mids use? We are considering a flip phone through verizon or a track phone.

Great Advice! I just wanted to add learn how to sell yourself in a way that doesn't come off as bragging or cockiness. Remember that all the people in the admissions process were young once too and the same goes for the interviews.

From what I've gathered from PM's, Rifle is very hard to get into without prior experience; 5 plebes were added to the Trap and Skeet team after tryouts in November; the academy does provide firearms of an unknown(so far) model; They practice at a local range.

I get done May 11th with finals, but the rest of my class is not done until the 25th. I lucked out big time! I will definetly be enjoying my time while still preparing for USNA!

I've heard that there are very few spots for incoming plebes on shooting sports teams, is that true? If so how competitive are they? How do you get involved with shootings sports?I'm primarily looking at trap and skeet. Thank you
