NROTC version of "Anyone still waiting out there?"

I got the message this morning: I wasn't selected for a scholarship. Disappointing, but certainly not the end of the line for my military aspirations. For all of those who still have "no decision" on their status page, hang tough; you're still in the game.

I was wondering the exact same thing. Congrats to 49er, BTW.

Sounds like backpedaling to me...

This is kind of what I'd figured, but it's nice to have some verification. Thanks for the info!

    Rejected for Scholarship

Tiers are the Navy's way of ranking what majors they want the most. Tier 1 majors are in demand engineering majors, like nuclear and aeronautical engineering. Tier 2 majors are technical majors, such as chemistry, physics, and computer science. Tier 3 is everything else. According to current...

NROTC version of "Anyone still waiting out there?"

I know that yesterday, a few people got the dreaded "we're sorry" messge on the status page, but has anyone gotten an update yet saying that you've been awarded the scholarship? My status page still reads, "no decision", so I can only hope that's a good thing.

    Rejected for Scholarship

Out of curiosity, how did you get the news? Did you get notification via email, the Application Status page, or some other source? Sorry to hear about the disappointing news. Best of luck to your son.

    Marine NROTC Scholarship?

I came to the same conclusion. It seems that historically, Thursday or Friday of the week of March 15 has been a common notification window for both Navy and Marine option scholarships. I guess we'll have to see if that pattern holds up.

Judging from how long it took them to process and post the January board results, I'd guess that the February boards will be posted any time now. Take it with a grain of salt, but I've got a feeling that for better or for worse, a bunch of us will have our decisions back before the end of next week.

    Marine NROTC Scholarship?

Any idea if this might apply to Navy Option applicants as well? Thanks.

    A CFA Question

With respect to a pushup/situp program, I wholeheartedly agree. In just the past month of weight lifting, running, and calisthenics, I've improved dramatically, which is why I'm confident that if I took the CFA after another month of conditioning, I would get much better scores. I just wanted to...

    A CFA Question

Thanks for the input Stopper. I've heard similar things, (my field admissions officer told us to consider the average tables minimums) however I've also heard contradictory reports as well. I've heard statements ranging from "the CFA is pass fail" to "the CFA is worth 10% of a candidates...

For the Best Transcript Junior Year

I'm not a grad nor a cadet, but I'll offer my two cents here anyway, as a math-tutor who completed Congruent-Enrollment Precalculus, and took the SAT and ACT shortly thereafter. If your main concern here is that you might need the Precal for the SAT, then don't sweat it. There isn't any...
