Curious about that too. I "think" it is only needed for D1/D2 but definitely want to confirm. Going to have my DS ask their CG coach.

    Anxiety About Going

So it is now April 2024. I wonder, what did you decide and how has it worked out so far? This could provide valuable insight for others who are in the same situation you were in. Thanks.

So close to wire and Application Status still shows Cadet Candidate Evaluation Board Review (Not Complete)

My kid was EA deferred to RA. Until this morning their application checklist was gone and "stuck" on "Cadet Candidate Evaluation Board Review Complete" with a link to their December 21 deferral letter. At some point this afternoon their checklist reappeared showing that their application is...

So close to wire and Application Status still shows Cadet Candidate Evaluation Board Review (Not Complete)

Waiting with patience. Managing doubt and anxiety. Learning to control what you can control and letting go of the rest. The process is a lesson in and of itself. The next 24 hours will let you know what your kid's portfolio of options looks like. If they have made it this far as candidates...

So close to wire and Application Status still shows Cadet Candidate Evaluation Board Review (Not Complete)

You don’t lose any college eligibility playing prep season. Athletically, it is equivalent to reclassifying as a senior in high school again. Lots of athletes go to a prep school for a year before going to college (get their grades up and physically mature). All four years of eligibility are...

    RD Still Awaiting Decision

Same here. Coach said it was a drawn out process and to hang in there. Mine is one of two recruits for that sport and neither appears to have received an appointment yet.

    Nervous in Newton

I posted this on another thread but wanted share some info. My kid is a recruited athlete and heard from their CGA coach over the weekend. The message from the coach was basically to just keep hanging in there, that it's a drawn out process. So hang in there everybody!

Understood and aware that half the cadets are varsity athletes at the Academy. Just telling you what we were told by the coach - that being a potential athlete at USCGA is secondary to your potential to be an officer in the USCG. Good luck everybody.

It has been a process hasn't it? Everybody just hang in there... almost to April 1. At this point nothing to do but live life and enjoy. On our end it is tough, like I suspect it is for many of you, because alterative options are actively communicating and looking for commitment. Just got to...

    Is anybody still waiting?

Makes it tougher doesn't it? Same boat for my DS and basketball. Hang in there. Coaches are under a lot of pressure to secure their rosters at all levels (d1, 2, and 3). Just have to stay honest with them and let them know the situation... just a few more days for EA notice and little more...
