    Just sharing

We know one thing for certain – that pedigree didn’t result in a ’15 appointment.

    Just sharing

A lot of former AF officers including grads in your family. My ’16 son didn’t get an appointment to the ’15 class but did receive a Falcon Foundation Scholarship. One of his Falcon cohorts and ’16 classmates is the grandson of a retired AF 4-star (’60 grad) and son of a Reserve AF 2-star (’83...

Best Wishes to the New Crop

My ’16 son’s father-in-law is one of your classmates. I’ll check in with him to see if he did anything to mark the day. He probably played a quiet round at the Academy golf course – a marked change from his first day on base 40 years ago.

    Wish me luck

I don’t think 80 minutes is unreasonable. Our son is a ’16 grad so his ALO interview was done in person at our home. When I explained that my wife and I were both retired AF, he said he’d skip his usual parent presentation and then asked to speak with our son privately. He spent well over an...

    ENJJPT alternate

My '16er said they had ten rank ordered alternates last year - he was number 5. They didn't take anyone off the alternate list last year even though 8 primary selectees went to grad/med school. Vacancies filled with the prior years grad students?

    Test Scores

I am not sure what information if any you could provide that would allow a grads mom to "judge" your competitiveness.

    Academy tour

The house we have rented for Grad week is off of Briargate and the back yard looks down on the airfield. Looking forward to the fly overs as well as the Thunderbird practices on Monday and Tuesday afternoons.

    Ask Us (current cadets) Anything

USAFA12 is correct. My ’16 son is a soaring IP and starts IFS August 18. Goes all the way to Laughlin only to turn around 2 weeks later and drive back to Colorado.

    AFSC 21AX Advice

My son is in CS27 and his AOC is an aircraft maintenance officer. Go talk to her?

    Bubble-wrap your appointee (literally).

Our daughter graduated from Virginia Tech last year and starts medical school this fall on an Air Force HPSP. The best “thank you” we ever got from her was at the beginning of her senior year. As her friends were going to campus job fairs and lamenting about how much salary they needed to pay...

    No Appointment or TWE....just Crickets

I wanted to give a shout out for NMMI as a Falcon option. Five years ago our son was where you are now. He and 7 other Falcons that year chose NMMI. It was a fantastic experience for them and all 8 are set to graduate June 2 with several going on to grad school before UPT. NMMI is a state land...

Air Force senior makes the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team

He is a nice kid. He was my son’s roommate the semester they were both on Group staff together. Isn’t he cross commissioning into the Marine Corps?

    pre-recognition?

This is why I like to see these sorts of questions answered by current cadets. Things have already changed from what 2018 went through just a year prior. I remember one graduate parent advising new parents to buy the $5 football tickets which haven’t existed during my ’16 kid’s tenure at USAFA...

    Math 130

My ’16 son is a Computer Engineering major and I think I remember him saying recently there are only 10 kids left in his major that will graduate in June.

    Naturalized Foreigner

Since France is not a NATO country, applying to Euro NATO Joint Jet Pilot training is not an option for him. Member NATO countries that participate in ENJJPT are Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom, and the United...
