    Q & A - Norwich University

My son is cadre and the PT mentor for a Rook company. There is no hazing. School will not tolerate hazing. There is yelling and mind games during Rookdom. It is deigned to teach about handling stress effectively. By Rook recognition you will understand how it helped you grow, so don’t let it get...

    Shakeup at Norwich

A nominee was announced today as the next President of Norwich. Happy to say he’s a Norwich graduate. I am optimistic.

    Shakeup at Norwich

Norwich University Mark Anarumo immediately out as President by mutual decision. Inner school memo leaked stated he was on leave, unknown if he would return, and the school would not discuss personal issue. Just before Christmas break Anarumo posted a cheerful Christmas video, so this is...

Junior Military Colleges to Academy for College Students

If you want to attend a Junior Military College, I can recommend Marion Military Institute. My daughter and son-in-law both attended there. Great school. The webpage says 2.0 is the minimum to apply to the school in general. Why don’t you start with the first semester in the general MMI program...

    FY24 Branch Commandant Ratings AROTC

My son was not selected for CTLT most likely because of his low gpa. His lack of concern about his gpa has been an ongoing issue since middle school and I gave up years ago. But it all worked out fine. He took a summer school class online and worked a PT job where he saved money to go to Europe...

    FY24 Branch Commandant Ratings AROTC

@banjoppd I remember you’re a Norwich dad, so thought I would share my Norwich Senior’s Branching experience. MP: Infantry, Armor and Field Artillery. Got his first choice of Armor. As I’ve mentioned on the forum before, the kid is a B/C student so GPA was not great. But he’s a PT stud, O at...

    Q & A - Norwich University

Currently there is not a minor in SWAP. However, your daughter could minor in History and take the same History courses that would be offered for a SWAP major. Some of the basic History courses also count as a general requirement to graduate, so double bonus.

    Q & A - Norwich University

Leadership and Philosophy. Also, Studies in War and Peace hosts a center which brings in speakers, study abroad’s, etc. And if your daughter is interested in this major, also check out Model UN. My son is very involved in Model UN and they go to the big international conference each year hosted...

Coast Guard DCSS - How Does it Work?

Unfortunately it did not work out as she had hoped. Not sure if Covid or diversion of funds or priorities, but no one from her group that year was selected.

    Building work ethic

Echoing what @glen mentioned. If your son on his own has the desire to go to an SMC, then that’s a huge plus. My son was pursued by a rather notorious party college for his high school sport skills and we were certain he would end up there. My son was always the kid in silly trouble in high...

    NORWICH vs VMI

I really do not understand your hesitation. You have announced that you are going to the Citadel, Norwich, and enlisting. Now weeks before school starts you are publicly discussing applying to VMI with out of state tuition. We cannot say what financial aid package they will offer, but based on...

    Maybe Norwich?

My son is contracted Army ROTC at Norwich. He’ll be a Junior this year and is happy to answer any questions your son may have about life at Norwich, etc. He also hosts prospective students when they visit Norwich. If interested, just send me a DM and we can get them in touch by email.
