USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

My DS BGO was not responsive to him and interview came so late than the other 2 SAs. The BGO did apologize and my DS was understading that this is a volunteer job. But still replying after few weeks was not a good experience while the other SAs were actively communicating with him. Despite of this, USNA remains to be my DS’ top choice.

Anyway, still Pending. Was hoping for some news today. 😩

I’m not counting on the MOC. My question is for the USNA admission if this step will now be skipped and move straight away to portal update since it’s already April 15.
That’s what I meant. The MOC sometimes is a courtesy call. After nomination our MOC never contacted my mid. It did not matter

So frustrating. Pending since November, get a turn down email last Thursday, was fine with it, get a poorly worded email saying that it was a mistake (quite the mistake), USNA waits to tell me until the last possible second that I’m waitlisted. Overall very mad and frustrated by the system and process.
I am sorry to read this. I was really pulling for you and felt terrible you had to go on that emotional rollercoaster with the admissions snafu. That was totally unprofessional and you deserved more than a simple apology email.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I was in the waitlist boat with my son 4 yrs ago. I can empathize.

When the waitlist hit, what I told my son, was to accept the waitlist, but to mentally pivot 100 pct to plan B. If an offer comes? Asses at that point. He did. Signed up for NSI. FULLLY committed to NROTC.

It was a relief. For all of us. Hooped off the forums and got ready for high school graduation. Bc wallowing and being immersed in all that is this, was not healthy for either of us. Letting go, and getting off the forums allowed everyone to move forward.

Then he got the offer mid-May. Accepted and here we are about to commission.

I would recommend this to anyone. It’s such a relief. And you won’t miss notice of being offered an appointment.

I've been less vocal but still traveling with all of you. DS has been in the same boat as many others - pending since Dec. with everything turned in and just waiting. Same silence that has been discussed here multiple times. DS just got the congressman call about 30 minutes ago. Not counting any chickens, but looks like his wait is over. I'm pulling for all of you (especially you @anom) and just sending this out to help you all KEEP THE FAITH...appointments are still trickling out as well - I will keep all fingers crossed for the rest of you waiting. God bless you all!

Does anyone happen to know how many people get off the waitlist? I think I read that some candidates heard as late as June 1 or even after.
Waitlist offers trickle out through May and June, up to the week before I-Day. One of my mid’s companymates graduated high school on June 6, walked across the stage, then got a phone call she was being offered an appt to USNA!! That same year at least 2 came off two weeks before I-Day.

Back in the early 80s one of our dear friends (a career Marine) was one of the ones called the week before I-Day! And just imagine- that was back in the days of corded home phones, no answering machines, snail mail, long distance calls, and no internet. I can’t imagine the scramble!

Wow! Congratulations!!!!

So true. And now they are not even hitting their own deadline of the 15th and dragging these kids out even longer. It's not a good look.
Is it a deadline or target?

I have seen communications that implies “most” everybody will hear by the 15th.

Clearly there could be a few openings after the 15th, so they need a small waitlist.

Good point, but hopefully you get the spirit of what I was saying.

It seems several are getting their decisions dragged out even longer.

Congratulations 🥳🥳🥳. Did his portal change before the call?

When it asks (for waitlist) about stuff dodmerb should know about since time of exam, should I mention that I had the flu and was on an inhaler for a couple of weeks (am off of it now, no complications and fully recovered)
