Any idea which way Plan B will go?Plan B with USCGAS or USMMA. Two great options and really excited for her future. She really worked hard for these opportunities.
DD turned down in AZ. She is still processing. Has an amazing plan B. Who knows maybe she will see you on the yard in a year. Good luck to you all!
Go Navy! ️
I don’t see any harm in staying in the wait list. However Notre Dame is an incredible option. I think your son needs to take a breather. This is a very big life decisionSon just got the "wait-list" notice....He'll likely decline and just head to Notre Dame Navy ROTC, which is honestly probably a better fit for him. Best of luck to all those out there, regardless of whatever path you take for a commission. In the end of the day, a commission is a commission.
We are going to sit down in the next few days and make that final decision.Any idea which way Plan B will go?
Sometimes staffers do not fully understand the process or all the definitions. They may have stated something in a letter, yet submitted it differently. Regardless, US Code is different for USNA and not required to appoint a candidate with a Principal Nom who is 3Q. It’s not common, but has been seen. MOCs submit their own slates to USNA via a system, so there isn’t an error on USNA’s side. It just uploads.Understood. My concern is that DS' p-nom wasn't even received/acknowledged in order to be considered.
Oh I’m so sorry to hear but I do hope she joins my DS at USMMA class of 2028! Good luck!Woke up early.... I saw TD for my daughter. Her dream of being on the Yard with her sister is over but she has an awesome Plan B with USCGAS or USMMA. Two great options and really excited for her future. She really worked hard for these opportunities.
It has been fun, nerve-wracking, and stressful, but I enjoyed sharing the ride with everyone. On to awesome plan B's!! I wish everyone great success in the future... Go NAVY! BEAT ARMY!
Good luck! Get ready to "Embrace the Suck!" That was my DD plan C a couple years ago (Norwich was plan B, Marine option). But after setting foot on campus after being waitlisted she knew that was where she was meant to be. Hasn't looked back since! Says it has been the BEST decision!
Yes, you are doing the right thing checking into it.Understood. My concern is that DS' p-nom wasn't even received/acknowledged in order to be considered.
Thank you for the ride. Two great options on deck! Good luck to your DD. Thank you for raising great kids.Woke up early.... I saw TD for my daughter. Your son can email his admissions counselors for clarification. Asking if he is a principal nominee, or not. Its a fair question and I would advise him to do so.Understood. My concern is that DS' p-nom wasn't even received/acknowledged in order to be considered.
Have you checked the Java script to see if it says the nomination was principal?Understood. My concern is that DS' p-nom wasn't even received/acknowledged in order to be considered.
Ain't nobody got time for negativity. The process is grueling enough. Just watching is exhausting. Thanks for recognizing those working in a seemingly thankless job.have to show some love to the humans in admissions, who came through with *most will hear by April 15*.
They are people, working hard, working overtime, to meet a mission. I’m impressed. And with all the negativity sent their way, I feel like they deserve some acknowledgment of yesterdays push.
Who knows, there could be a whole bunch of appointment offers in yesterdays mix, too. Remembering that MOC’s are given a couple days to notify their candidates before to change in the portal occurs. Maybe that timer started yesterday for some of yall
And shout out to all the fine people in this thread. Love the positivity, support and encouragement. The most I’ve seen here since I joined
Odd? I'm not certain. Good job on having son contact BGO with MOC letter. Given that this looks to have been a filing error by the MOC staff, an astute BGO would probably have your son contact the staff personally to explain that he was the principal nominee. The email or contact should be respectful and matter of fact with the right tone requesting clarification on the nomination filing. If the staff realizes its error, it could go directly to admissions and acknowledge its error on your behalf. There are some branches and sequels that can still lead to an appointment. Good luck to your DS.Yes, DS received a letter from the MOC indicating he was a principal nominee. With some prodding, DS emailed his BGO (with letter from MOC) for any guidance last night. Does it seem odd that DS would end up waitlisted with a p-nom? It does to us, but this is our first time going through this process.
Thank you. DS received a response from his BGO agreeing it was worth looking into and that he'd see what he can find out.You son can email his admissions counselors for clarification. Asking if he is a principal nominee, or not. Its a fair question and I would advise him to do so.
Was this attached to a recent waitlist status?
