Hi from No cal

My son just opened his candidate portal for USMA last week. Wow! What a great forum. So much information. I don't quite get all of the abbreviations but I'm learning! I'll be sure to check all the stickies before I ask silly questions, but I appreciate having a place to learn about the process. Looking forward to the process!

Right now it's an absolute dream for him. No other SA but USMA. He's a DI or DII athlete, grades are decent, the heart, and leadership abilities are solid. Most of the stats I see on here are just phenonminal. Kind of scary to be honest with you. The end goal for him is career military with the Army. (scares the crap out of me, sorry but I'm a mom) please do not be offended. We have no real military history in our family. This seems to be one of those things that is deeply rooted in him. Whether or not this avenue works out, I'm proud of him, the path he has chosen, and every one else that attempts this journey. His dream has opened my eyes in so many ways.... Aren't our kids just amaizing?
